Word of the Week 8/4/16

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

sociable

It’s been a good one, though I have to admit I’m a little grumpy about how quickly it’s all gone by.

We have been very sociable this week, very sociable. The kids and I have squeezed in meeting up with 4 lots of friends, as well as catching up with pretty much every member of our family in between. We’ve been out to the fabulous Disney on Ice and I’ve even managed to get a day of studying in, too, whilst the kids were being way more sociable than me playing with my mum all day.

It’s been great having both of the kids at home and without having to time my day around school runs. It’s also been fun spending the week catching up with people and letting the kids do their own thing, be it playing, reading, watching movies, whatever they fancy. It’ll feel strange when Boo goes back to school on Monday, but likely only for an hour or so as the old routine seems to come back so quickly, like we were never away!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share.

  1. Wow what a busy week – sounds like you’ve had a lovely time catching up with friends and family and seeing Disney on Ice and I’m impressed you managed to get a day of studying done too. Hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy those last couple of days before getting back into the term-time routine.

  2. I like your word of the week. Unfortunately we’ve not been feeling very sociable this week and even turned down visitors the other day because I was too tired to cope 🙁 Our week hasn’t been bad though, despite the dreaded homework, which is my word of the week.

  3. Hi Jocelyn, it sounds as if you’ve had a crazy week. I’d be totally exhausted if I’d have met up with so many people, but I bet you and the children had a fab time. It must have been a total pleasure to be able to sit and study in peace, knowing that the children were having a great time with your Mum.

Hope next week isn’t too much of a shock to the system.

    Thanks for hosting.

  4. It’s great to be able to have quiet periods setting time aside for just ‘me time’ and then having lots of sociable times. Sounds like you fit a lot in and enjoyed it all.

  5. Oh I just love weeks like that, it is so great catching up with people and always leaves you thinking I should do this more often. But then we get back into our manic lives and it all goes out of the window, have a fab week x

  6. Sounds like you’ve had a busy time but enjoyed it. Hoilday are always busy as we have to see the family too but it will be good to get back to normal playgroups ect x
