Word of the Week – 24/10/14

Thank you so much for continuing to share and to link up – I love to find out about everyone’s weeks in this way, love it!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. I comment on and tweet out every post, and it’s a friendly place, so come join in! All that I ask is that if you link up, you link back to me, and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and comment on their words, please.

My word of the week this week is:

#bringbackpaper

Yes, I’ve decided that as it begins with a hash tag, it is indeed one word, and if it’s not? Well, it’s my linky, so I’m doing it anyway!

Now, this week could just have easily been ‘Croup’, as that has dominated the week here with Little Man catching Boo’s, and he’s been suffering and struggling with it. It has meant sleep deprivation, leading to general grumpiness (him and me!), lots of activities cancelled, and plenty of snuggle time. But, after last week’s not so positive ‘Damp’, I had to find something cheerier this week, didn’t I?!

For anyone that doesn’t know, #BringBackPaper is my campaign to get us enjoying more papery goodness, and it’s kept me nice and busy this week. I’ve been arranging the book swaps (plenty of time to still join in with that), catching up on my own snail mail, planning my #30DaysOfPaper prompts ready for my November Instagram challenge (they’ll be over on my Instagram feed soon so keep an eye out for those!), getting chit chat ideas ready for the Twitter party next Wednesday evening, lining up a whole new regular papery feature and I’ve liased with a fabulous lady on bringing a feature about her business along with a giveaway to you all soon. And as if that wasn’t enough, I’ve discovered a new author this week, so have been drawn into a happy bookish papery world and the post I wrote a couple of days ago on Minted has got me planning some papery Christmas gifts from them. So yes, I’m going with paper over croup!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best? Please grab the badge, link up and share.

  1. Lovely word for the week – much nicer than croup although I do hope Little Man is better soon. Looking forward to lots of papery posts and challenges coming up 🙂

  2. Great word of the week. I’m really looking forward to lots of papery goodness over the next few weeks, and especially with Christmas coming up.
Hope your little boy is feeling lots better xxx

  3. You’ve been really busy again! I have no idea how you manage to start so many new projects through your blog, but you always do it in such a well-organised manner: you are fab, Jocelyn!

  4. Oh yes, a much nicer word than croup. I do hope he picks up soon-at least it’s half term so a break from the early morning school run will be most welcome I imagine. I dreamt about Minted.com last night, or the products ion there to be precise-it’s all your fault 🙂 x

    1. A very welcome break! I think he’s on the up now, fingers crossed. Oh no…I’m not totally sorry, though… ;-)!

  5. Ooh you’ve been busy this week (as always!). Sorry to read about Little Man’s croup – there’s nothing worse than an ill child. But yay! for enjoying all things papery. X

  6. I would normally say that I love paper too, but in my new job I am literally drowning in the stuff! I’ve always strived for the paperless office ideal, but right now I couldn’t be much further away if I tried! But give me a real book to read any day! And lovely stationery too!
Really hope Little Man is feeling better soon and you all get some sleep. Take care
    x

  7. Ah poor little man! Arthur had a couple of bouts of Croup last winter and it’s no fun at all 🙁 Sounds like there’s lots of exciting developments in #bringbackpaper though! I’ve finally been persuaded to join Instagram this week so I’ll have to look you up and join in 🙂 x

  8. Haha! Hashtag words definitely count!
Since first seeing #bringbackpaper I can honestly say I have more paper in my life! I think about it more. I have cute little notebooks where I used to just have the ‘notes’ app in my phone! And I love them. It’s so much easier to swish through and get a quick reminder of everything I’ve written. And I love just the feel of holding them in my hand.
    Have a wonderful papery weekend!

    1. I thought they must! Oh, well that has made me so ridiculously happy, Steph! I feel like my work here is done 🙂

  9. Hmm, a choice between coup and paper – I think I would’ve chosen paper too!! I love stationary and all things papery but I’m finding my world is becoming more paperless through work, school communication, friendships etc. I’m looking forward to your papery posts as I think it may just prompt me to get back offline and to put pen to paper rather than fingertips to keyboard!
Thanks for the lovely linky xx
