Word of the Week 16/2/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

Given that last week, quite a few unforeseen things cropped up, I didn’t have especially high hopes for this week. I just wanted to get back on track with a few things, but I’m pleased to say that things have gone well and have actually surpassed my expectations.

I am really pleased that I have managed to get ahead with my studying and have actually got a fair bit further on than I had hoped. I wanted to get an assignment written this week, though I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to do it. I have surprised myself and not only got it done, but I’ve got another one written, too. Two in one week, I am feeling good! It means I can forget about it now for a week or so.

On that subject, I got my mark back for my last assignment and it’s a good one, one which surpassed my expectations. And the kids were not to be left out as Little Man came home yesterday with a privilege for his great work in maths and Boo got 15 out of 15 on her tricky spellings test – both impressed me!

Little Man and Boo had parents evening this week, and whilst I had expected no problems, they were better than I’d have foreseen. Both of them are doing very well academically, and I was really happy to hear that they are both very kind to their classmates, always looking out for them and they have good circles of friends. That is good enough for me, proud mum.

And the best news all week has to be from Disney World. They have surpassed my expectations, sorted out my worries and we are now booked at another resort and we cannot wait!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

  1. Well done on getting ahead with your studies, sometimes you just have to get your head down and go for it don’t you. It’s great to hear that Disney have moved you to another resort, you can relax now and get back to the fun planning part. We had parents evening this week too, it’s a great feeling when your kids love going to school and learning isn’t it. Have a wonderful weekend x

  2. Well done on your Uni result. Woop woop!!! and of course to Boo and Little Man. Just to say I think I now have details of 4 penpals from you! I had two letters in the post and details of two people to write to first off, in that you have surpassed yourself by setting up the penpal exchange. Thanks again J. Looking forward to sitting down and writing another letter this afternoon. Disney is sooooo close!x
