Word of the Week 12/1/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It’s been a week that has seen a return to normality and routines.

The kids have returned to school this week, and I have been surprised by how well Little Man has been going back. This was the first two weeks break for him since he started school and he did mention a few times that he didn’t want to go back to school. But come Monday morning, both kids were absolutely fine getting ready and getting to school, phew. He’s had a couple of wobbles since, but has come out smiling, full of tales about his day. They’ve also returned to swimming this week, something that they both really enjoy.

I have returned to my study books. I’m so pleased I did get ahead before the break as it’s allowed me to ease back into it, rather than being hit with two assignments both due in this week. I have been enjoying it, I think a part of me must have missed it.

I am slowly returning to healthy eating and exercise again. I’m gradually easing myself back into it. Just give me a week or two…..!

It already feels like there was no break. And it doesn’t help that I don’t like January, however whilst the routine has returned, there is one little happy addition. A new daily habit for Boo is to update our Disney World countdown, something she loves doing and seeing those decreasing numbers are getting us all through the return!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

  1. Our word this week is routine – back to it all after the Christmas break. As much as I loved those two weeks, it does feel nice to get back to normal.

It sounds like your week has been much the same, what with return (I like that one!). Great that both kids went back to school fine, especially as their was some trepidation; my four year old was eager to get back to nursery!

Ooo… Disney World countdown; exciting!!.. How many days to go now?

    1. Ah well, that seems to be slipping as my boy’s been more and more reluctant to go in each morning. I just hope he gets happier about it soon! It’s just 128 days to go to Disney now!

  2. It definitely keeps up your spirits in January when you have something to look forward to later in the year. Normality soon returns after the Christmas break that’s for sure. Have a lovely weekend x

  3. Doesn’t take long to feel like you were never away does it! glad Little Man has settled back to school, tell him it’s only five weeks till he gets another holiday LOL! Not that I’m counting…

  4. So glad that Little Man has settled well back into school again and that getting ahead before the break has helped you ease back into your studies. How lovely to be counting down to your Disney trip. Hope you all have a lovely weekend and thank you for hosting #WotW 🙂

  5. I was surprised at how well my kids took to going back to school. I’m so glad your little man was okay, I think wobbles are expected but coming out smiling is the best x
    thanks for hosting x

    1. His wobbles are growing each morning, I do hope they reduce again soon, poor little thing. I know he settles afterwards, which is the big thing x

  6. We’ve struggled to get back into a routine, you seem to be doing a much better job of it than us!! It’s nice to get back into a normal rhythm although it’s a shame that Xmas is already a distant memory!

  7. awww, so pleased little man turned out ok when Monday came, it is lovely when a routine is restored. At least you are starting with the dieting, better than putting your head in the sand. Have a fab weekend X #wotw

  8. Happy New Year to you all. I so need to get back into the exercise, I have been rubbish the last month but this week I have to commit to it a little more. Its been an odd week for us, but I am hoping next week will feel more normal and kick of 2018 x
