Word of the Week 8/6/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

Firstly, thanks so much for you lovely comments over the past couple of weeks, and to those of you taking the time to link up and join in. I’d say last week I could easily have gone for any of those words, but I’d have settled on ‘magical’. It was a magical break.

My word of the week this week is:

I am more than a little surprised by how well I’ve adjusted to getting back from Disney World. This is on two levels, in that I don’t have the post Disney blues (yet!) and in that we haven’t had problems with jet lag, hooray! I had anticipated both of these things, but surprisingly I have been quite chipper, perhaps this is because I know we’ll go back again? Or perhaps it’s because I know it’s mine and the Husband’s birthdays very soon? Or perhaps it’s because it’s been sunny? Who knows, but I am taking it!

Our new car arrived when we returned and it’s surprising how quickly I have got used to it and now love it. As it’s new, it’s got one of those Stop/Start buttons and no handbrake, both of which freaked me out initially! But I am all adjusted now and very happy driving it.

And then I have been working on surprising the Husband for his birthday tomorrow. This hasn’t been easy as he’s not asked for anything, given that he bought a few things on holiday, and he’s got nothing in mind that he’d really like to do, so I have made a few plans and hopefully he’ll have a lovely day tomorrow.

I am now looking forward to being surprised when I eventually spot the bottom of my washing basket – the holiday washing is seemingly endless!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. Great to hear that you’ve all adjusted to the return from holiday so well; lovely when that happens. I hope your husband has a wonderful birthday, and that you see the bottom of your wash basket soon 😛

  2. I love happy surprises and I’m glad that yours have been. How great that you love your new car, it’s always a bit scary when you get something new to drive, it’s like starting all over again isn’t it. I hope your husband enjoys his surprise birthday and that you have a good one too. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for hosting x

  3. You are so lucky avoiding the jet lag, must be arriving home to the nice weather. I have no doubts you will be planning another Disney adventure soon. I hope your hubby has a nice birthday, enjoy your weekend x

  4. Magical sounds like the perfect word to describe your Disney holiday. I’m glad that the adjustment back to normal life has been easier than anticipated and that you have also managed to adjust quickly to the new car. Hope your hubby has a lovely birthday tomorrow and enjoys his surprises. #WotW
