Word of the Week 30/3/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It’s been a week where I have been thinking about the future, even whilst being entirely in the present. Bear with me, it’ll make sense in a moment.

I have spent the vast majority of this week working on a university assignment. I was at a tutorial in Birmingham on Saturday and have then spent a few days putting the assignment together and then, finally, submitting it. It has consumed me! I have wrangled it into some semblance of order so I am hoping that my tutor will be able to make sense of it. The assignment covered my last block of the module, ‘Controversial Futures’. You see, it makes sense now, doesn’t it?

As I have put this essay together, I have been acutely aware that it is my penultimate assignment of my entire degree, I just have one more to go and an End of Module Assessment now. It feels strange. I almost wanted to linger over it…only almost, though. I am very aware of the future in terms of the weeks left on my schedule and the work that I need to get completed.

I shared an update on my blog plans after university earlier this week and have spent a little time planning around those. I have also kept a close eye on my work diary and inbox, dipping in and out between writing my essay, as it is busying up so I need to make time in the very near future to get lots of work done!

There’s been a lot of talk with the Husband about getting a new car. This was something we were planning to do at the end of this year, so a little way into the future, but the Husband has spotted a deal we think is good so that might be happening in the near future now. I’m easy either way, I have just put that one in the Husband’s court as my head doesn’t fancy fitting any more planning in it at the moment.

With the kids off school from today (we are going to Disney On Ice today, hooray!!!) I have also spent the last week making plans for the break, from play dates to time with grandparents, we’re hoping to have a fairly chilled one, with plenty of chocolate, of course.

And as always, Disney World is rarely far from our thoughts. I’ve done a little more organising this week, a little more planning, a little more shopping and we all continue to get very excited about it. I try to keep it out of my mind as I study and work, but it comes to the fore whenever it can!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. Oh how exciting, I love planning in any form and it sounds like you have some really fun times ahead. I can’t believe you are almost finished with university, will miss seeing your updates about studying. Have a lovely Easter weekend x

  2. Lots of planning and forward thinking… Always important, whether the fun stuff or practical. I hope you have a lot of fun at Disney on Ice (we’re going at the end of April!). A lovely long weekend to you & your family.

  3. Have a fab day at Disney on Ice we are going in two weeks. I just adore it. And cant wait to follow your Disney trip. Planning for the future is a fun one isnt it, I tend to have small goals rather than a bigger picture because I am so changeable. I bet you wont know what to do with yourself when you finish your degree x

    1. I’m like that, and I quite like not knowing where I’m going with things sometimes. It’ll be so strange! x

  4. Amazing that you’ve now submitted the penultimate assignment of your degree and have nearly finished – how exciting! Good luck with the final assignment. Hope that you have a lovely time at Disney on Ice today and enjoy your Easter break. Thanks for hosting #WotW 🙂
