Word of the Week 27/4/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It’s been a week dominated by cars for me.

We’ve been thinking about getting a new car for a little while, and then over the weekend on our way back from a lovely day out at Calke Abbey, we decided to pop into a car showroom to check out a few options. Which then led to popping into another showroom, and then another and then another! On Sunday we visited three more until we had managed to narrow our choices down to two options and we then spent some time looking around for the best deals available on them.

Shopping around complete, we managed to choose the car that we wanted and have now ordered it. It will be here in two to three weeks time and Boo is very excited as we’ve gone for the car that she wanted. It will be fun to drive something new, though there are quite a few new bits of technology that I’ll need to adjust to!

In the meantime, we do still have our existing car, so I’ve also been arranging to settle up the finance outstanding on that and get it listed for sale. Fingers crossed that’ll be sold soon.

So yes, definitely a week full of cars here. Though don’t worry, I have spent my non-car time working on my assignment, and I do now have a first draft complete. I’ll leave it for a week then take another look at it, make any revisions and I think I should then be all done. Phew.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. Glad that you’ve managed to find a car and that Boo is happy with your choice. I can imagine that some of the new technology takes some adjusting to – my father-in-law recently bought a newer car and there are a lot of things that sound quite different to what we’re used to with our one! Hope you have a good weekend and thank you for hosting #WotW

    1. She’s delighted! They change so much, I had to call up my dad (who is a mechanic) and have him run through how the new things work and how they are still safe! x

  2. oooh how exciting! I love it when it’s time for a new car, I can’t wait to see what you’ve chosen. My husband fell in love with a Volvo V40 yesterday, but we can’t have a new car until next year.

  4. What fun. Sounds like you made a weekend of it. Glad Boo is happy with your choice. Look forward to seeing which car you went for. We need to do this soon too. I have to admit, I don’t mind as long as the car gets me from a to b.

    1. I just like to check the boot space, as I like lots of room there! Aside from that, I’m easily pleased, too.

  5. I’m glad you found a car that you like. It’s funny how you can go and look at just one and then the next thing you know its a full day of showrooms. We need to think about cars soon but I need to do a bit more saving #WotW

  6. Its amazing how much you can save by shopping around on a new car isnt it? I love getting a new car and that new car smell. I am actually due to change mind but need to motivate myself to get looking x
