A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you a great range of new pre school books from DK that have really engaged Little Man and he continues to ask to read them with me daily. So today I thought it would be great to share some other non-fiction titles from DK’s range for older children and offer them as a prize, too.
On arriving, it was a popular package…
Both of the children were so excited to receive their new books, diving straight into them.
A little glimpse inside for you….
More details about each of the books we were sent…
What Happened When in the World
History as you’ve never seen it before, walk through the past and find out what happened when
Step into What Happened When in the World, a unique historical atlas for kids and discover the global events that shaped our world.
Watch the key moments in our history unravel on the page in front of you through colourful, illustrated 3D maps. Follow the devastating spread of the black death through Europe, the Roman Empire’s expansion to North Africa and the Middle East, and the impact of world war II on the globe.
What Happened When in the World reveals our history through 60 stunning, specially commissioned historical maps which chart the migration of humans, the spread of the black death, D-day landings and much more.
As it claims, this is a unique book as it walks us through key events and moments in history, by taking us around the globe and sharing happenings from across the world. There is so much to take in on each page, with a huge variety of topics covered. We’ve been dipping into this one, page by page, and I can see it being a brilliant book to use and refer to over the next few years as Boo studies different periods of history.

This is a very engaging read. It’s crammed full with facts, and then there are activities to complete on most pages, too. Boo, aged 6, is thoroughly enjoying working her way through this book, as am I, as I thought I knew a fair it about bugs, but it turns out I’ve much to learn!
Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need To Know
Star Wars™: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know is crammed with weird and wonderful Star Wars trivia, strange-but-true facts and fascinating “Did you know?” Q&As. Find out who cleans the floors of the Death Stars and what takes 1,000 years to digest its victims! From movie-making trivia to quirky facts you never knew you never knew, this book will excite new and old fans alike of Star Wars Rebels™, Star Wars™ The Clone Wars™ and the Star Wars movies I-VI.
This one is a book for all ages, I think. Little Man at 3, adores looking through it, and then at the other end of the scale, the Husband is very keen to read it with him each evening! Our boy is Star Wars obsessed, so when this arrived he was beyond happy. He’s been showing it to every single person who visits the house and flicks through it, asking to be read to, on and off all day. It’s packed with illustrations and information, and I can see any Star Wars fan loving this.
Now you can win all three of these books, thanks to the folks over at DK! To be in with a chance, enter using the rafflecopter below. The competition ends at 12am 3rd November 2015 and is open to UK entrants only. Good luck!
