Tree2MyDoor Review & Competition

When Tree2MyDoor got in touch with me, I got a bit excited. As regular readers will know, I really enjoy gardening, and as soon as I looked at their website, I was impressed with the huge range of trees and shrubs that they have on offer.

Tree2mydoor are an award winning tree gifts company based in Manchester, UK, supplying British grown trees. They create unique and original gift packs that can then be personalised and delivered nationwide to friends and family.

I love the idea of gifting a tree like this. I think they make great presents, as they do keep on giving and serve as long term reminders. My mum has long been a giver of garden gifts, a rose to mark an anniversary, a shrub to mark a passing and so on. In fact, when our dog died last summer, my mum bought us a mock orange shrub to commemorate and remember him by. It’s a beautiful gift, and it flowers around this time of year, the same time as he died, a touching reminder. I’ve also given flowers and shrubs as gifts to celebrate new jobs, and I think they are a good idea for house moves to pop something special out into the new garden.

Tree2MyDoor is an easy to navigate website, allowing you to shop by gift occasion, ranges, types and filter by price. There is plenty of information on there to make an informed decision about each purchase, including the trees characteristics, a care guide, lots of images and exactly what’s included as part of the gift. You can go for roses, fruit trees, ornamental trees, magnolia trees, dwarf trees, large trees, willow trees, pairs of trees – seriously, there is so much choice, you just have to see for yourself!

After a good look around, I selected the Royal Burgundy Flowering Cherry Gift. I’ve wanted a flowering cherry tree for some time, and this one appealed to me as unusually the leaves are dark red. Apparently, they will then turn a warm bronze colour in the autumn which will be lovely to see. The blossom on these looks so beautiful, and I know it’s going to grow bigger, stronger and flower more year on year.

It arrived last week in an easy to carry cardboard box that fully protected the tree. On unpacking it I liked the little extra touches, as there was a card included and ribbon around both the pot and the tree itself. It comes potted up and I was impressed by how large it already is and how healthy and strong it looks. I cannot wait to see it in bloom – pop on over to the website to see how gorgeous it will look when it flowers.

I can see this making a wonderful gift for someone, as I am absolutely in love with mine and I can’t fault the delivery service or the product itself.

  1. It would have to be the Dwarf Diamond Peach Tree Gift it has beautiful flowers & does not grow too big for a small garden 🙂

  2. Oh my what a fantastic site, there is so much I would choose, I’d really like an apple tree or pear tree as we eat lots and it would be lovely to grow our own. But how wonderful it would be to own a gooseberry bush or kaffir lime tree. I wouldn’t know where to begin. Then there are the lovely roses, I’m currently looking for some rose bushes I have a lot of garden to fill! I love the idea of gifting plants and trees. I also have a friend who loves gifting plants.

  3. I spent way to long looking through the website, fantastic idea! I’d pick the Williams Pear Tree, my mum would love it!

  4. I would definitely choose the mandarin orange tree because I think it’s a beautiful tree and I could also use the fruit in cooking. It’s a perfect tree to put on my terrace for summer!

  5. Wow, everytree you could ever want. Don’t think i could grow them all ???? i love the large baytree gift x

  6. Joanne Hutchings

There’s so many to choose from, but I’d possibly go for the golden wedding anniversary rose bush as my parents in law are celebrating this year.

  7. I’d really like to start growing my own blueberries so I would maybe order two blueberry bushes to get me started!

  8. What a great idea, I would love some fruit trees but have such a limited space, I would choose the Patio Victoria Plum Tree Gift

  9. What a fabulous idea, if we had a larger garden I’d definitely have a Williams pear tree, I adore them and make special trips to Waitrose just to stock up on my favourite fruit as they’re the only place that stocks them for more than just 2 weeks of the year. As we’ve only got a diddy garden though that would probably be unrealistic so I’d go for one of the patio roses. I’m loving ‘belle of the ball’s and ‘sweet dream’.

  10. No idea, this would be for a friend who has a garden and grows everything, I do get homemade jam from her which is super

  11. Frances Heaton

I would buy a small Bay tree as a gift for my daughter and boyfriend, as they’re marrying during Summer.

Trees and plants are wonderful gifts as they bring joy year after year, as I hope their marriage and commitment does.

  12. Michaela Hannah

I would choose the medium bay tree – we are moving soon and our new garden is in desperate need of some foilage!

  13. I would love the Royal Burgundy Flowering Cherry Gift 🙂 Thank you so much for the chance x

  14. Hilda Hazel Wright

I would probably pick a pair of the olive bushes as I have a small garden, but so many lovely choices!

  15. Elizabeth Hinds

I would choose the Japanese Flowering Cherry Tree gift – the flowers on it are beautiful and it would really brighten up our yard 🙂 It’s a fantastic idea!

  16. I think I would choose the Stella Cherry Tree Gift, because love both cherry blossom flowers, and cherries! Yum!

  17. I’d get the Star Magnolia Tree Gift
They look beautiful and my house is named Magnolia Cottage 🙂

  18. I would go for something like the Dwarf Diamond Peach Tree Gift as I like the idea of having plenty of colour in the garden.

  19. What a fabulous idea! I would love to try and grow a Peach tree so picked the Dwarf Crimson Bonfire Peach Tree – as it doesn’t need warmer climate just covering in winter and a sunny spot!
    Imagine picking fresh peaches!

  20. I am a bit of tree fiend, Trees is my nickname so over the years I’ve been given a few; I have two fig trees, an olive tree, an orange tree, a lemon tree, a plum tree, an apple tree, a cherry tree and an elder-flower tree. However, although I have often been called a tree nut, I don’t actually have a nut tree. So, from the many lovely trees I would chose the Hazel Truffle tree (a double whammy!). Thanks for this great blog and competition Jocelyn, trees and plants are fantastic eco-friendly gifts, and if they are fruit or herbs they could end up as the gift that really does keep on giving :0)

  21. I would choose the Enkan Japanese Maple Tree having just returned from touring Japan and having fallen in love with their beautiful gardens. A momento such as this would just live on and call me back for future visits.

  22. This is such a lovely idea and makes such a lovely gift ~ it is the gift that keeps on giving! I would love the Twisted Olive Tree!

  23. I would love an apple tree. I have always wanted one since I was little and I used to collect the apples from my nans tree 🙂

  24. Chris Fletcher

I’d love the Patio Victoria Plum Tree Gift, it would be perfect for our backyard and I love plums!

  25. Michelle Stokes

I love the colour red so one of my favourite trees is the Enkan Japanese Maple, such gorgeous leaves.

  26. I love the Royal Burgundy Flowering cherry gift because it would fit in beautifully with my Japanese Acers to make a beautiful garden to DIY for. Thanks for the chance xxx
