Our Top 5 Holiday Destinations

It’s that time of year where thoughts turn to holidays, isn’t it? Holidays gone-by come rushing to the forefront of my mind, dreams of LA, Ibiza, Las Vegas, Barcelona and so many more. Spring is showing signs of springing so my mind wanders onwards to summer and then I start to envisage lazy days by the pool and relaxing breaks.

LA

Oh, but wait, we have kids now! OK, so we don’t exactly have the option of lazy days any more, but if we were to be able to go anywhere in the world with them, these are the places that I’d like to show them…

Italy

I adore Venice, so I would love to take them there, but then the Lakes are simply stunning, Florence can’t be missed and we’ve not explored southern Italy before so maybe we should go for that? A tour of Italy is in order!

Mexico

We’ve some friends who have recently been to Cancun and it just looks and sounds idyllic. This would be as close to we’d come to having the lazy holiday, I think. Sun-drenched shores, beautiful all-inclusive so don’t lift a finger hotels, and fabulous scenery and historic wonders to explore.

Florida

Oh, to take the kids to Disneyworld. The Husband and I have been before, and when we went we stayed in a lovely private villa with a pool, so I’d want to do something similar to that again. It was a handy base that gave us plenty of freedom to stay there and relax in between very full, jam-packed days out!

Paris

Paris is one of my favourite places in the world so I’d like to share it with the children. Boo has a book about the Mona Lisa that she really enjoys so I’d like to take her to see it hanging in the Louvre. We’d have to go up the Eiffel Tower, stroll along the Seine, shop on the Champs Elysees and marvel at the splendour of Notre Dame. I’ve yet to visit the Palace of Versailles which would really interest me, too, so we’d definitely do that.

Kenya

Boo’s just been learning all about Kenya at school so is fascinated by it. I’ve always wanted to go on a safari and I know the kids would love it. It’s somewhere that my mum has long said she would want to visit, so it would be wonderful to take her, too. A trip of a lifetime, bringing back stacks of special memories.

Where are you yearning to go?
