The Readings Read – November

Another month, another array of books read. These have been our favourites…

pip and posy and the little puddleLittle Man – Pip and Posy: The Little Puddle by Nosy Crow & Axel Scheffler

He loves this book! We bought it for him for his birthday, but he’d not really paid attention to it for the first couple of months, but now it is popular! It is a simple story, and as it’s Scheffler, you can imagine that the illustrations are fabulous and we like to talk about the details on every page, as Little Man points to various objects for me to tell him what they are. A lovely book.

the singing mermaidBoo – The Singing Mermaid by Julia Donaldson

She chose this with her pocket money at the start of the month, and it’d be fair to say that she is getting her money’s worth –  it has been read a lot!  The mermaid is lured from her seashore to sing with a circus, and it’s not all it promised to be. It’s all in rhyme, and has glittery pictures aplenty.

the sum of all kissesMe – The Sum of All Kisses by Julia Quinn

Yep, another of my regency books has been a hit with me this month. Julia Quinn is one of my favourite authors, and I particularly love her Bridgerton series – it has been re-read many times here. This is a book in another series, the Smythe-Smith Quartet, which I’m really enjoying. I pre-order all of her books, so it’s nice when you forget about them and one then just turns up, like this one! Read it within a few hours, and loved it, as always.

61 hoursThe Husband – 61 Hours by Lee Child

He was back with Mr Child this month, and very much enjoyed this latest one. I think some of them had been a little slow-going, and he’d been reading a few other authors, but he’s happier with this latest one.

What have you and yours been enjoying?
