Strawberry, Apple and Chocolate Crumble

I have long been a fan of crumbles, yet I rarely make them myself. My mum used to make them all the time for my brother and I, so we’ll still eat the odd one there every now and again, but I don’t think to do them at home. It’s probably because the Husband doesn’t like them, so I don’t want to spend time cooking something that one of us won’t eat. But now I have found a super fast and easy recipe that is just so tasty, meaning I can have my crumble fix whenever I want it! This strawberry, apple and chocolate crumble is ready within just ten minutes of me gathering the ingredients for it, and the other plus is that it’s made from items that I tend to always have in the house anyway. Hmm, this could become a habit….

Strawberry, Apple and Chocolate Crumble - so simple and super fast, from prep to eating in 10 minutes!

Strawberry, Apple and Chocolate Crumble
Ingredients for the Fruit
1 peeled and diced apple
5 diced strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp chocolate chips
1 knob a butter/margarine

Ingredients for the Crumble
2 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp sugar
1 knob of butter
1 pinch of salt

Strawberry, Apple and Chocolate Crumble Fruit

Method
Pop the prepared apple in a microwaveable bowl with the sugar and butter and mix it up. Cover with cling-film, pierce a few holes in it, then heat in the microwave on full power for 1 minute.

There’s likely to be excess liquid when this is done, so pour it off and then add the strawberries and chocolate chips into the bowl and mix it all together.

Grab another bowl and prepare the crumble mix. Add in the flour, sugar, salt and butter and mix together with your finger tips. Once it’s at a stage that it can form a dough, crumble it over the top of your fruit.

Cook it all in the microwave for 90 seconds. Allow it to cool down before devouring it. Add custard or cream for an extra little treat.

This is delicious, super simple and fast to make, and there’s the added bonus of very little mess made as you’re making it all with just two small bowls. I am now addicted.

What do you think? Are you a crumble fan?
