Shopping With Traidcraft

I’ve been having a browse around Traidcraft. Traidcraft is the UK’s leading fair trade organisation, a combination of a trading company and a charity working together, ensuring that poor people in developing countries get paid fairly for their skills and are not exploited. With the tag-line, ‘fighting poverty through trade’, it’s a fair trade shop selling a good range of products from food to clothing to stationery. You just know that it’s the last category that I lingered on, don’t you?

I love stationery. This is no secret. I buy it from a huge array of places, pretty much anywhere that I spot some that I like. So it’s good to be buying from a business that you feel you can trust like this and you know that when buying, you’re supporting a good cause.

Ordering is as easy as any online shop, and the items that I’d chosen came within a few days…

I’m really pleased with them. They are just as pretty as they looked on the website, and now that I have them in my hands, they’re a lovely quality, too.

I opted for a set of 6 Afternoon Tea cards, with two designs in the pack, currently priced at £4. As they are blank inside, I can use them for birthdays, special occasions or just for sending a little happy mail. I do like to have cards in for all occasions like this, and I really like the summery designs of these. They have me itching to sit outside with copious amounts of cake! I do like the backs of the cards, too, as it tells you more about Traidcraft.

I also have the pack of mini elephant print notebooks, currently £6 for 4, which I think is good value. Each comes individually wrapped to protect them, and I do like the little button and wind around tag to hold the books closed. They’re a handy size for popping in your bag, and Boo has already grabbed one for herself.

I think the prices are very reasonable, dispelling one of my own myths, as I thought I’d be paying more for fair trade products. I’ve been impressed by the range on offer, as well as the ethos behind the organisation.

There is a sale on over there at the moment, too, so well worth a look!

  1. Wow those mini notebooks are just adorable. I’ve a soft spot for a lovely lot of stationery! I’ve not heard of traidcraft before but will definitely be checking out their website now.

  2. The Afternoon Tea cards are gorgeous – I love to have blank cards in “stock” too – which reminds me that actually I don’t have any at the moment! Time to invest.
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x
