Scaramanga Journals & Stationery Chest & There’s A Giveaway!

You know sometimes you browse a shop or website and you just know that it’s perfect for you? The kind of place where you find yourself wanting pretty much the entire range, and one in every type and colour? Well, that’s what happened to me with Scaramanga when they got in touch with me recently.

After a fair amount of deliberation, I chose a few items to review and share with you today, and I’m also delighted to be offering one of my readers the chance to win a gift voucher to spend with them, too, so do read on for more details about that.

Wooden Printing Blocks and Leather Journals

You may well have spotted a Scaramanga journal already in my Ultimate Stationery Gift Guide, a beautiful journal with an antiqued brass closure. In addition to that, I also received these wooden printing blocks and embossed leather journal…

Wooden Blocks and Leather Journal

Leather Journal and Wooden Blocks

The wooden printing blocks came in a pretty little pouch and have already been put to use by the kids when they made their Christmas placemats. They are sturdy and beautifully crafted, with pretty designs. The journal, with its soft leather cover, is currently residing in my new stationery chest whilst I ponder its purpose. I feel it needs to be special, as it looks like such a special book.

Old Wooden Chests, Trunks & Boxes

These are all so appealing, and I have to say I took my time over these. The chests are all 70-100 years old and were once used by Indian families. Every chest is unique and carefully restored, and I love the sense of history that comes with them.

In the end I opted for an old merchant’s stationery chest, which arrived yesterday and I am absolutely smitten. Made from teak hardwood, with compartments and pull out sections, it’s taking pride of place within arm’s length of my desk and is already full of stationery – I did have something of an overflow so it is good to have somewhere to store it all now!

Doesn’t it make you want to just open it up and explore it? It is sturdy without being heavy and has clearly been crafted to last. I wish I could share the smell with you, as I struggle to describe it. Think old antique shops and vintage book stores and I’d say that’s about the right scent. The kids are fascinated by it, too, and have been eagerly showing it off. Must get them to stop mooching about in it, as it is all mine..!

I’m also very partial to Scaramanga’s huge range of leather satchels and bags, and could happily choose about a dozen of those!

So yes, it is fair to say that I am pleased with these items, the quality, the craftsmanship, the range available and their beauty. They offer something different, and I can see them being brilliant for special gifts at this time of year.

With that in mind, I now have a £50 Scaramanga gift voucher up for grabs, so to be in with a chance of winning it please enter using the rafflecopter below. The competition is open to UK entrants only and closes at 12am 14th December 2015.

What tempts you from the Scaramanga range?

  1. What a great site! I love the Old Tin Rack Set but am even more taken by the Old School Blackboard – I could definitely get my “to do” lists on there in my little work corner.
The printing items you choose are fab too.

  2. Oh wow, I can’t believe I’ve never seen this website before, I’m in love! The tablet cases are lush, my absolute favs! <3

  3. It is hard to choose, as there are several items I really like. But I especially love the Leather Tri-fold men’s wallet.

  4. really need a new tablet case and these are gorgeous..finding it hard to choose…one can have more than 3 right?? its normal 🙂

  5. https://www.scaramangashop.co.uk/item/2167/18/Journals/Extra-Large-Silky-Sari-Notebook-Orange.html has to be something that I would really consider.

I started journaling again this year when my brain started to feel a little overcrowded and I was struggling to see the positive things in my day. I always find having something pretty to write in helps me maintain the motivation to keep writing rather than giving up and letting it fall by the way side. I can’t resist beautiful stationary. I also really like the travel journals on their website in the gift section!

  6. I love what you’ve shown of this range so far, but my heart is with the wooden boxes – they are totally gorgeous!

  7. I don’t know if there is a right or a wrong answer, but I would let my other half choose something if I won, so it would be a gift of sorts. This looks right up her street

  8. I love the stationery chest, I would adore one. I have a very old leather chest and a wooden suitcase used in the first world war complete with the original newspaper of the day lining it. These are my treasures and I am always looking for more boxes and chests to add to my collection -what a find Scaramanga is

  9. I have been lucky enough to deal with Scaramanga previously and find their customer service to be equal to the high standards of their fabulous products. A pleasant change in today’s retail market.

At the moment, their ANTIQUE CHEST – WOCS81830 really catches my eye.
