Pooh Sticks in the Park

The weather seems to have taken a turn for the worse. It’s blustery and wet out there, so we’re having to get very smart with our planning, to make sure we can get out into some fresh air when we can – got to grab those opportunities when they arise! The other day, though it was very windy, it was dry, so we all wrapped up and popped to a local reserve for a little stroll and a good old game of Pooh Sticks..

We were probably only there for half an hour, but it was all we needed. Little Man loved the freedom, finding puddles and weaving his own way, rather than being in his pushchair, and Boo just adored playing Pooh Sticks.

We bundled back into the car, visited a local toy shop for a bit of fun and a meander, then had a drive around to see the Christmas lights and trees everywhere, before getting back home for a fish & chips dinner. Good time had by all!

When was the last time you enjoyed Pooh Sticks?

    1. Oh, you’re missing out! Just find a twig, drop it in the stream & then run (the running part adds to the fun!) to the other side of the bridge to see it emerge. Ideally, there should be more than one player so you can race 😉

  1. Sounds like a great family day of fun! As you say we’ve had a lot of rain lately and you have to take the opportunity to get out while you can. Our children love a game of pooh sticks here at Coombe and are very competitive when choosing the right stick. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

  2. It’s always great to get outside and enjoy some fresh air even if it’s only for a short while. We love Pooh Sticks too although we’ve not played it recently. We were hoping to get out today but the weather is dire – tomorrow is looking better!

  3. The last time we did pooh sticks was last summer. My three-year-old loved it and of course would get upset if stick got stuck between stones. Ah kids! 🙂 #CountryKids.

  4. We love playing pooh sticks at a little bridge in the forest near by – reminds me of my own childhood. There’s something extra special about doing things with your children that you used to enjoy with your own parents as a child x
