Books & Reading Give-Aways

Peppa’s Christmas Post Blog Tour

Today I’m talking about that loveable pink pig, Peppa, and Christmas cheer. We’re taking part in Ladybird Books blog tour, celebrating their new title, Peppa’s Post.

Peppa and her friends are organising a festive pantomime and need to write bundles of letters to everyone in the village, so that people know where to come, what the programme is and who to look out for. It’s a lovely book, hardback and quite lengthy for a Peppa picture book, with little envelope flaps with notes and invites scattered throughout. Little Man loves it.

Peppa's Post
So as Peppa and friends have been busy writing letters, so will we on our blog tour. Last week I received a lovely letter from Amy at 2 Boys 1 Mum, and today I’ll be writing to Anna over at In the Playroom, who will then write to Clare at Emmy’s Mummy who’ll be posting to Kara at Chelsea Mamma – I’m looking forward to reading them all!

Dear Anna,

Merry Christmas! Hope all’s well in your house and things are starting to get under-way for the festivities?

This week will see us getting our Advent calendars out and welcoming back our elf to our home. The kids are both really looking forward to seeing him again! We’ll then be off to visit Santa next weekend and we’ll be putting up our tree and Christmas decorations then, too. From then on, it’ll be feeling very festive and we’ll no doubt be playing Christmas music, watching Elf and Arthur Christmas and doing a little wintry crafting.

One of my favourite traditions will come the weekend afterwards when we all go over to my mum’s house and meet up with my brother and his wife. Mum will have bought her tree and decorated it then, so the house will be smelling like the Christmases of my childhood, she’ll have prepared stockings filled with sweets for everyone and we will be watching it. The film that signals that Christmas is drawing near. The Muppet Christmas Carol. Muppet Christmas Carol Day is a highlight for me, every single year!

On the big day itself, I’ll be cooking Christmas dinner for the first time, and my mum will be joining us here. I’ve ordered the food and tried to make it all as easy as possible so that I can spend most of my time playing with the children rather than being stuck in the kitchen. We’ll then be having my in-laws round for tea, though who knows how hungry we’ll really be by then!

The presents have now all been bought, with just the wrapping left to do. My girl has asked for a Care Bear, a My Little Pony playset and a Princess Anna costume, whilst my son is asking for pretty much the entire Star Wars and Marvel ranges!

With Boo now 6 and Little Man now 3, they both understand what’s happening. For the first time in years we don’t have to think about fitting in nap-times, getting high chairs to the table and changing nappies. It’s the very first Christmas we’ll have in our own home as we’ve always visited family before. It should be a good one. I’m hoping it’ll be a good one.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas,

Love The Readings x
