The PAW Patrol Magazine Is Here!

Egmont have recently launched a brand new PAW Patrol magazine, so we’ve been invited to take a look at it and share our thoughts with you.

PAW Patrol Magazine contents

The team at Egmont share that: PAW Patrol is an action-adventure pre-school series starring six heroic puppies: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Skye, who are led by a tech-savvy 10-year-old boy named Ryder. With a unique blend of problem-solving skills, cool vehicles and lots of cute canine humour, the PAW Patrol works together on high-stakes rescue missions to protect the Adventure Bay community. PAW Patrol is the No.1 show on Nick Jr. and airs every day on the pre-school channel. PAW Patrol was also the top product pre-school toy item in the UK market in 2015.

My initial impression of the PAW Patrol magazine was that it is quite similar to other magazines that Little Man enjoys, such as Star Wars Rebels, in terms of gifts included, quality of paper and number of pages. Where this differs (other than the characters obviously!) is that it is specifically aimed at the preschool age range, so the activities to complete are just perfect for him in terms of both pitching to his capabilities and challenging him to develop his skills.

The magazine consists of a good mix of stories, colouring, stickering, counting and fine motor skills practice, along with this edition including a pull-out double-sided poster featuring the alphabet on one side and a colour wheel on the reverse.

PAW Patrol Magazine spot the difference

Now my kids both watch PAW Patrol, though Little Man tends to favour various superhero shows and Star Wars. That being the case, I wasn’t too sure how engaged he would be with the magazine, and I admit I didn’t know how well he knew the characters, but it seems I know very little as he knew all of them, understood the stories and was really excited to receive a copy of the magazine.

As a three year old, Little Man’s concentration span can be quite short, but he has sat and gone through every single page of this magazine in one sitting, only leaving out some of the colouring pages. He enjoyed completing every single activity in there, especially the Spot the Difference and stickering pages. From my point of view, I liked the amount of tracing and following the dots included as this is a skill that Little Man is just starting to develop so it was a fun way for him to practice. He can sometimes be reluctant to do things like this, but he moved through the whole magazine, pencil in hand, prepared to have a go at everything which was lovely to see.

The problem that I now have? Look at how he’s circled this page of the PAW Patrol toys that he wants? Yep, all of them!!

Anyway, enough of my thoughts, I’ll hand over to the 3 year old to share his thoughts….

As I write this, Little Man is flying round the house as Chase and Boo is Skye in her pink helicopter. Yes, PAW Patrol is taking over here!

Are your little ones PAW Patrol fans? Would they enjoy the new magazine?

Disclosure: We received the magazine FOC for the purposes of this post
