Papery Peep March 2015

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, so it can only mean it’s Papery Peep time. I love it and I make no secret of it! A chance to blog about paper, invite you to do the same, then visit and read lots of papery posts – what’s not to love?!

This month I thought I’d show you some of my recent papery acquisitions…

latest books

I’ve really got into crime and thriller novels lately, which are genres that I’ve only ever read sporadically before. I find them to be very easy and fast reads, and am enjoying reading something a little different.

magnetic notepads

These were some of my Mother’s Day gifts. The Husband and Boo always know that a trip to Paperchase will not fail them when buying for me! Both pads are magnetic and nice and thick, too. Boo likes to use them to practice her writing on, too, and I’m quite happy to share.

john lewis stationery

Well, clearly I needed more snail mail goodies, didn’t I?! These were all from John Lewis.

My ReadWriteCreate this month has been fun. I actually haven’t read all that much, only two books this month so far, Blind Faith by CJ Lyons and The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen. Both very different, both enjoyed. I’ve had a lot on my mind this month, which has made me restless and less able to read, though conversely, I know that when I’m totally absorbed in a good book, it helps me unwind and switch off. It’s felt a bit of a vicious circle! At least I got a couple of books in there. I’m up to date with my letter-writing at the moment, and enjoyed sending a few surprise notes and cards out, too, so Write is covered there, and I also started writing this, having ‘created’ it with Boo….

our happy book

I shared a guest post last week about starting a happy notebook (you can win a notebook there, too, don’t miss that one!) and I really liked the idea. I talked to Boo about it, and she was very keen, so we made one of my many, many blank notebooks into our very first happy book. Every evening since, we all sit and think of three things that have made us happy that day. It’s a lovely thing to do, and I hope we’ve created a tradition that will last many years.

So what about you? How’s paper featured for you this month? Now’s your chance to share, so blog it, grab the #BBP badge from my sidebar there and link up. Please take the time to comment on at least another couple of posts, too.

The linky will close Tuesday 31st March at midnight.

The book swap ends on 31st March, so if you signed up for that, do make sure you post your book off in time. Next month’s #BringBackPaper activity is my photo a day challenge, #30DaysOfPaper over on Instagram. Follow me there ready to join in, as I’ll share the daily prompts there soon, and the details will also be on the blog next Wednesday, 1st April, ready for you all to join in. I do like a photo challenge, so it’d be lovely if you’d join me?

  1. Love the sound of your happy book (I recognise that washi tape!) and those magnetic notebooks look fab. Have been using the jotter from your stationery pack for my to do lists and love it. Thank you for sharing the papery love 🙂

  2. Loving those stamps – very pretty. I picked up a new notebook from Marks yesterday (yes another one) – there’s lots of lovely stationery about right now. Looking forward to the photo challenge next month x

  3. Oh I have serious stamp sticker envy!!

Meanwhile, as I type there is a box from Paperchase with my name on it winging it’s way containing a couple of on sale butterfly items 🙂

And, my awesome cousin bought me the first issue of the Art Therapy thingy advertised on TV at the moment just to cheer me up. Of course I’ve now subscribed to the series, I’m finding that colouring-in for grown-ups is the best stress reliever at the moment.

Is The Calling any good by the way? Enthralling and creepy sounds right up my street!

    🙂 x

    1. I do love a Paperchase delivery! And there’s a sale on, you say, might have to take a peek….!

Oh, that is a lovely gift, and yes, I’m really enjoying my colouring in, too.

I just started reading it yesterday, but so far so good, yes. I’ll let you know x

  4. I love the idea of a happy book 🙂
And I know just how hard it is to read when you have a lot on your mind. I really struggled in my last pregnancy and got into a real reading slump. Hope things improve soon x

    1. It’s been great, we’re really enjoying doing it! I’m reading again now, and I feel so much better knowing I have a good book to sink into later tonight 🙂

  5. Your John Lewis goodies look lovely, especially the stickers.
Instead of a happy book we’ve got a happiness jar going in our house. We intermittently add little notes into it about happy things that have happened.
Enjoy reading your new books. I finished my #bookswap book last night. It was fab!
    Thanks for organising it.

    1. Ah, that’s a lovely idea, too. Will be great to look back on these things. Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it x

  6. Wow, I really can’t believe it’s that time again! I love the idea of a happy book, I can’t wait to hear how you get on.

I’m pleased that I’ve at last managed to link-up and get involved in this months #bringbackpaper book swap.

    Thanks for hosting x

    1. How it flies! The happy book’s lovely, a really nice thing to stop and do together. Thanks for getting involved x
