OK, so second lesson time! I’ve taken on my beginner’s tips, chosen my project of photographing my garden through the seasons, and this week I’ve been thinking about perspective. So here it is, my garden, my perspectives…
I took a few photos of the same thing but from differing perspectives to play around with it. I also spent time using different modes on the camera and generally having fun. I didn’t want to come back inside! I was amazed that I could find so many things that I was interested in photographing, and thinking about how I could take them from different angles to improve the shot, as you can see. And I enjoyed seeing the beauty in the flowers dying away, the promise of shoots coming through and a cheeky little rosebud teasing me – it’ll be blooming again soon. Ah, how I love my roses 🙂
So, second week in, and I think I’m starting to see a difference. What do you think? What’s happening out in your garden?
Well spotted with them all. My favourites are the drippy twig and the close up of the mossy/ferny stuff. Very nice indeed
Thank you very much 🙂
Awh what lovely pics! Its such a blessing to have your own garden space :0)
Thank you, yes it is 🙂
These look great. Well done you, it’s great that you tried different perspectives to see what you preferred too! X
Thank you very much. I really enjoyed messing around with perspectives and am now constantly thinking about it with every shot! Thanks for your wonderful guest post x
Lovely photos, I like the beautiful pink bud, is it a peony?
Thank you – it’s a rose, Harlow Carr. I love it 🙂
Omg, this are amazing!!! You are not a beginner. How you caught the water drops on that twig, or the flower bud, and how you get close up to them from various angles. Just stunning. I am jealous. If I had a garden I would definitely be attempting some shots like these. But I just have dirt at the moment. lol This week I wasn’t feeling my photography, I am struggling in MANUAL mode, just can’t get what to put my setting on so my indoor and outdoor pictures dont look so grim. There is always next week though. I will keep trying.
Thanks very much! I do think it’s helping me having the garden, rather than dirt!, as it does inspire me to photograph it. I hope you get back to enjoying your photography soon and I hope the tips are helping x
Great photos, I love the detail in the moss photo, #Howdoesyourgardengrow
Thanks very much 🙂
I love how you’re having so much fun with the camera and combining it with the garden. I really think it helps you see the garden in a different way too.
It really does – it’s full of wonderful photo opportunities now!
Love these photos. I am trying to learn manual at the moment and it took ages for the penny to drop. It’s only half dropped so far too 🙂
Thanks. I’m only messing with a little Point+Shoot, so not getting all technical…yet…!
it’s such fun learning how to use all the different settings isn’t it! I’m the same, I spend ages in my garden taking photos of all sorts of things x
It’s so fascinating to play with, isn’t it? I’m enjoying it.
I love playing about with angles whilst taking photos – and it’s a great way to find what works for you and develop a bit of a signature style too!
I love all the rain drops on the plants – very pretty! Thanks ever so much for joining in again and sharing xx
Thanks, I’m really enjoying having a play about out there. Thanks for hosting x
love that last pop of pink. and i am always a sucker for rain drop pictures too. nice!
I loved the rain drops – not that I’m dying for more rain!
I’m loving the cheeky rosebud #howdoesyourgardengrow
Thank you – I do love roses 🙂
I love how you’ve captured the string of raindrops on those branches and the perspective on the ivy leaves is really interesting. Looks like you’ve been having alot of fun 🙂
Thanks very much – yes, I’m really enjoying it 🙂
Fantastic photos, my garden is exactly the same at the moment. Showing promise of things to come. I like the ones of water on the branch particularly.
Thanks very much. It’s nice to see the beginnings of shoots & activity out there 🙂
I love the light in the photo of the moss, and the rose! I can’t believe you have buds and shoots growing – I am jealous.
I know – I was surprised but delighted!
I love pottering around the garden taking close up pictures. I like roses too, a rose bud already – very early! Isn’t moss pretty.
I do love my roses and I have a fair few so there’s often one of them in bud or bloom 🙂
Look at you with your perspectives Mrs! Great work with the camera, you’ve got some brilliant photographs. I love experimenting with different positions, nearly had a raindrop on my lens the other day though!
Thanks very much – I am having fun with it!
I really love the rain drop ones x
Me, too, thanks x
Great pictures, it looks like things are starting to come to life 🙂
I know – exciting times!
