My Photos – Week 2: My Garden

OK, so second lesson time! I’ve taken on my beginner’s tips, chosen my project of photographing my garden through the seasons, and this week I’ve been thinking about perspective. So here it is, my garden, my perspectives…

I took a few photos of the same thing but from differing perspectives to play around with it. I also spent time using different modes on the camera and generally having fun. I didn’t want to come back inside! I was amazed that I could find so many things that I was interested in photographing, and thinking about how I could take them from different angles to improve the shot, as you can see. And I enjoyed seeing the beauty in the flowers dying away, the promise of shoots coming through and a cheeky little rosebud teasing me – it’ll be blooming again soon. Ah, how I love my roses 🙂

So, second week in, and I think I’m starting to see a difference. What do you think? What’s happening out in your garden?

  1. Well spotted with them all. My favourites are the drippy twig and the close up of the mossy/ferny stuff. Very nice indeed

    1. Thank you very much. I really enjoyed messing around with perspectives and am now constantly thinking about it with every shot! Thanks for your wonderful guest post x

  2. Omg, this are amazing!!! You are not a beginner. How you caught the water drops on that twig, or the flower bud, and how you get close up to them from various angles. Just stunning. I am jealous. If I had a garden I would definitely be attempting some shots like these. But I just have dirt at the moment. lol This week I wasn’t feeling my photography, I am struggling in MANUAL mode, just can’t get what to put my setting on so my indoor and outdoor pictures dont look so grim. There is always next week though. I will keep trying.

    1. Thanks very much! I do think it’s helping me having the garden, rather than dirt!, as it does inspire me to photograph it. I hope you get back to enjoying your photography soon and I hope the tips are helping x

  3. I love playing about with angles whilst taking photos – and it’s a great way to find what works for you and develop a bit of a signature style too!
I love all the rain drops on the plants – very pretty! Thanks ever so much for joining in again and sharing xx

  4. I love how you’ve captured the string of raindrops on those branches and the perspective on the ivy leaves is really interesting. Looks like you’ve been having alot of fun 🙂

  5. Fantastic photos, my garden is exactly the same at the moment. Showing promise of things to come. I like the ones of water on the branch particularly.

  6. Look at you with your perspectives Mrs! Great work with the camera, you’ve got some brilliant photographs. I love experimenting with different positions, nearly had a raindrop on my lens the other day though!
