Most Overpriced Technologies Of The 21st Century

This is a collaborative post

At present, technology is something that is literally advancing day by day. There is constantly an array of new and innovative computers, smartphones and other products being released onto the market. However, it seems that with new technologies come new prices, as some goods are simply rocketing in price. So, let’s reveal some of the most overpriced technologies that are available now in the 21st century.

Broadband internet

We do everything online today, from paying bills to even attaining qualifications, like doing an online MBA no GMAT. Many people would think that considering the Internet has become somewhat of a necessity it would actually fall in price. But this is certainly not the case. It is therefore highly advisable to check comparison sites to make sure you’re getting the best deal. Also, renew your contract before it runs out, otherwise your prices will skyrocket.

Smartphones

Like is the case for broadband Internet; there are some great smartphone deals out there but there are also some ridiculously overpriced ones as well. There is no doubt about it that a smartphone is certainly something which all individuals should have. They possess a whole host of benefits and make things such as emailing on the go a lot more efficient. Nevertheless, that does not mean that you should have to severely damage their bank balance in order to buy one. In fact, there is one smartphone on the market that could leave a lot of families bankrupt and that is Nokia’s Vertu Constellation Quest smartphone. Prepare to be startled, the Nokia Vertue Constellation Quest costs a whopping £20,500 (I’m sure you won’t want to bother converting that into pounds!). Oh, but don’t worry; there is a cheaper version available, that ‘only’ costs £5,900. And who said iPhones were expensive?

Printer ink

OK, so printer ink is not going to set people back hundreds of pounds at a time. Nevertheless, if you were to consider how often it needs to be replaced and the actual cost of it, you can see how much money printer ink sets people back each year.

3D Televisions

The concept of 3D television is obviously a very exciting one. Nevertheless, it is debatable whether it is something that can be truly enjoyable on a day to day basis. After all, who really wants to sit and wear a pair of what looks like sunglasses whilst watching the TV? And whilst the difference between a 3D TV and a standard TV is obviously a highly recognisable one it is certainly not one which is worth being set back thousands of dollars.

So there you have it – some of the most overpriced technologies of the 21st century. Would you agree? The good news is that there are plenty of ways to make your money go further, from using comparison websites to refilling your ink cartridges.
