In The Night Garden Party Time!

At the weekend, we went along to a fabulous and fun party at Alton Towers. It was to celebrate the first year anniversary of the In The Night Garden ride at CBeebiesland there, which was then made even more special with a Guinness World Record.

We were actually there at Cbeebiesland opening weekend the same time last year, so it was lovely to be invited to celebrate the ride being open for a year. Boo and Little Man always enjoy going there, and the ITNG ride is a favourite – they love to see the Tombliboos peeping at them, Makka Pakka slow clapping and Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy waving. It’s magical.

Whilst there, we did have a wander around CBeebiesland and Alton Towers. A few of our favourite things to do, which handily avoid any queues, are the Sharkbait Reef aquarium, Tree Fu Tom’s Training Camp, Nina’s Science Lab, the Zingzillas show and the Something Special Sensory Garden. We also went on a few rides, including the Skyride, where we all enjoyed gliding over the treetops, a great way to see the park.

Then there was the party!

The party had everything you could want at a children’s party and more. The main attraction was having Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy there themselves to start the fun, as well as activities galore to keep everyone happily entertained throughout the celebrations. Little Man was desperate to get to meet and cuddle two of his favourite TV characters, so we had to ignore everything else and make a beeline for them first…

A presentation was made for The Guinness World Record, which is for the largest polar fleece blanket made by Dreamtex Ltd, so Iggle Piggle has an enormous red blanket now!

We then got involved in the many activities available to try. We decorated stones as an homage to Makka Pakka, coloured in Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy, the kids had balloon models made – a parrot and a butterfly, Boo had her face painted with daisies, both of them made little bead balls that they love to shake and Little Man decorated a party hat.

This was all crammed in before lunch, which also went down a treat as it was hot dogs and burgers, yum. As the food was going down, it was time for a story, In The Night Garden style, and many of the children took to their cushions and settled in and enjoyed.

All that was left to do was to sing to Iggle Piggle as his fabulous cake arrived, and help him blow out those candles.

As there was so much to make and do, it also meant that as well as a lovely party bag full of ITNG goodies and cake, we returned home with prettily decorated Makka Pakka stones, balloon animals and bead balls to shake. Now that’s a party!

Thanks to the team at In The Night Garden for inviting us, the children had a wonderful time. And congratulations on the new Guinness World Record!

Disclosure: We received entry to Alton Towers and the party FOC for this event. All words and opinions remain my own.
