It’s been a whole month since The Reading Residence began. I’m absolutely loving writing it and have no end of posts whirring around in my head that I’ve yet to write. I’ve had some great comments left, discovered a whole new world of friendly blog link ups, have joined in with various blogging communities and am delighted to discover that people are actually reading it! I’ve written on a range of topics, and as I’m starting to grow more comfortable in this little space I’ve created, I see my posts becoming more and more diverse over the coming months. My Project Garden is becoming a real passion here, and I do think that sharing the progress and my ideas, along with reading about others’ gardens in Mammasaurus’ How Does Your Garden Grow linky, has really made it become more exciting and my interest in gardening has increased ten-fold just this month! One topic that I toyed with writing about, and actually went so far as to publish a post or two about (only to move them back into drafts!), was mortgages. It didn’t feel like a fit, alongside books, family fun, days out, stationery, gardening and so forth. But I’ve rethought that and decided that as it’s a subject that I am extensively knowledgeable about (yep, get me, with the ‘extensively’!), it seems a waste not to share it here. And though it may not be of interest to you today, one day, when you are looking to sort something with your mortgage, it may well help you and you’ll know that I’m here to help if you’re having a meltdown about it all! After all, it was what my pre-motherhood life was filled with, so I like to think I know a thing or two about it… ! Posts on that coming soon, and hoping they can be of help. And I will continue to bring you posts on all the topics that I’ve written about so far 🙂

So having paused and reflected, I’d like to celebrate one month in, and I though it’d be nice to run a little ‘thank you’ give-away, for all of the support readers and fellow bloggers have given me so far. You’ve been wonderful, so surely a treat is deserved?! I’ve popped together a prize package which I think sums up month one of The Reading Residence.

PRIZE

We have a family organiser pad, mentioned here, which represents my business which helps keep are goings-on here go-on, and also represents my Stationery Love feature, a couple of books as I’m always waffling on about books and reading – one for you (Austenland by Shannon Hale) and one for a little one (The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson), and then a pack of seeds, more specifically, Echium, wildlife attracting seeds, to represent Project Garden. Do not worry if you’re not very green-fingered as it says they’re very hardy! Hope you like it, and good luck to you if you’d like to have a go at winning it. It’s now over to this clever, little rafflecopter application to take entries and it will also pick a winner for us on 31st August.

  1. I’m mad about my garden too so keep up with that…how about book recommendations? I’d love to be told what’s good to read 🙂

    1. Oh, I’ll definitely keep up with my gardening posts – can’t get enough of it now! I’m doing end of month ‘favourite reads’ for the household, so maybe you’ll get some inspiration from that? Thanks for your comments x

      1. Thank you 🙂 I do like a mixed bag, but yes, there’ll definitely be more family days out posts as they’re lovely to share. Thanks for reading x
