GardenSite Garden Bench Review & Competition

It’s been a little while since I talked about the garden. This is no doubt because IT HAS BEEN THE LONGEST WINTER EVER!!! But, I am hopeful that spring is now emerging as we have had a handful of warmer sunnier days, which has meant that we have managed to spruce up a little area of the garden with its newest addition, a lovely garden bench thanks to the folks over at GardenSite, so today I am sharing my GardenSite Garden Bench Review.

GardenSite has over 12,000 home and garden products available to buy online, from greenhouses to ponds, and from swing sets to planters, they have a huge range on offer and most are available with free delivery, so do take a look around.

GardenSite Garden Bench Review

A garden bench has been an idea lurking in my mind for ages, and I do mean ages. I was checking a few out at the Gardener’s World show last year but didn’t quite get round to it, and I am pleased I have finally got a bench in situ otherwise I’d be scouring the show again next month looking for one that I like!

We have a little paved area at the top of our garden that was created when we took down some sheds and moved things around up there. It’s just been crying out for some seating, giving it a purpose and creating a usable space for us all.

This is the bench that we have received, the ‘Zest Abbey 3 Seater Bench’.

“A stylish bench with angles and curves, the Abbey 3 Seater Garden Bench is as comfortable as it looks. Traditionally-styled but with contemporary elements, a great deal of thought has gone into the design of this bench. Just the place to relax with friends, or perhaps take a cushion and a good book and lie back in the sunshine. This is a Zest4Leisure product that uses pressure treated timber from managed forests, it comes with a 10 year guarantee.”

And here it is!

It arrived flat-packed and took the Husband around half an hour to assemble it. The instructions were on just two sheets of A4 and easy to follow.

I like the style and it feels chunky and solid. It’s not too heavy to move around, as Boo and I managed to move it together, so it’ll be great for moving in and out of the sunshine to suit us when we spend more time out there in the summer.

We’re really pleased with it, it manages to transform the top of our garden and it’s great looking out of my kitchen window and seeing it. It calls to me to go out there, when I really should be doing things inside! It’s perfectly timed as I plan to be out there gardening and tidying everything up from next week as my university course ends and my time is freed up. I will now start with the top of the garden, weeding the beds and giving the paved area a clean just in time for everything to start flowering. Behind the bench there is a beautiful rambling rose, a bright rhododendron, a couple of peonies and a honeysuckle so it should all look and smell gorgeous in a month or so. Can’t wait!

Competition Time!

It’s now your chance to win the Zest Abbey 3 Seater Bench thanks to GardenSite! To be in with a chance, enter using the rafflecopter below. The competition is open to UK entrants only and closes at 12am 5th June 2018. Good luck!

  2. I love their water features, especially the Hamac Aqua Creations 5 Fall Open Woodland Falls Water Feature!

  3. A garden bench brings your garden alive truly making your garden another room in your house. The romantic notion of a garden bench was a favourite subject for many artists including Monet, Manet and Van Gogh. You will find many excuses to escape out into the garden and I am sure you will experience feelings of deep relaxation and satisfaction sitting on your garden bench!

    1. You are so right! We’ve only had it for a few days, yet we have all enjoyed sitting there and it has me wondering what we did before?!

Ooh…I loved the water features. They’ve got a huge range from small decorative indoor fountains right up to spectacular garden features….beautiful. All I need to do is make a space in the garden for one…

  29. We’re looking to buy a garden shed right now, so the sheds here definitely caught my eye. Will take a closer look.

  30. The summerhouses on GardenSite are simply beautiful, and visualising them in my garden was more than easy! I also loved the myriad of water features, so many to choose from, and such a varied collection, something to suit all tastes, although I personally prefer the more traditional styles, especially the barrel pump.

  31. There are a lot of items on their website that I’m interested in, particularly their wooden swing seats.

  32. Our garden is in progress at the moment, we won’t be here forever so everything is being done on a budget/things we can take with us. The Zest Forest Arbour with storage box is lovely and storage box is one of my favourite things, obviously.
If this was our forever home I’d 100% have a log cabin that I would Zen up to the max and escape to regularly – I would install a wine cooler and everything! Busy, needing a break mummas welcome!

  33. I love the range of planters and raised beds. I love to grow our own vegetables but find that I cant manage ‘low level’ gardening anymore. The raised beds would certainly ease my back and then I could rest on the lovely garden bench!

  42. I really love the Intalogs Flatback Wishing Well Fountain, it would look wonderful in our new garden 🙂

  43. It’s this bench I have my eye on. but the article ‘my garden – my extra room’ reminded me that I’ve done just this. After trying to downsize and de-clutter, all the shells, ornaments, balls etc are now part of the garden decor.

  44. Joanne Matthews

I’ve been re-landscaping my garden (assisted by my two year old) since we moved house last year. I got rid of a rather verocious growing ivy that took over everything to now a Mediterranean blue and pink oasis, complete with Little Tikes slides, cars, football goals and scooters. What I don’t have is a bench. Or any seating other than a towel on the grass! So, I’d truly love a new bench! My dream prize 🙂

  45. Joanne Matthews

I’d love the bench. I’ve seen similar ones handcrafted in my local garden centre and they just make you want to sit down and enjoy the garden.

  46. I love the summer houses. It would be wonderful to have a little place, especially for the kids to play in and use as a bolt hole. But unfortunately our garden is not big enough

  47. Tracey S Anderson

  57. Victoria Prince

The Forest Caledonian Corner Raised Bed caught my eye! Also the Oase Floating Fountain Illumination RGB Set 🙂

  58. I’d love a summer house for our dark corner of our garden. There is almost no point to it, we use it for nothing at the moment! Well the dogs use it for there…business, but other than that it sits there sad lonely and dark. A summer house would look fab there!
