Family Motor Show Events To Check Out This Summer

As the summer sets in, it’s time to turn to family days out. Make this summer holidays more exciting than ever by considering to visit motor shows and make it a summer of motoring. Over the recent years, motor shows have evolved drastically and are no longer the boring stuffy affairs with static displays. They have become family friendly, full of exciting turns and twists as well as unending entertainment.

Here are some of the notable motor show events suitable for families to visit this summer:

Cholmondeley Pageant of Power

Held in the Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Chesire, this event is backed up by a range of F1 cars from the 80’s modern fearsome rally cars. It includes on and off road races which display some of the most powerful and fastest cars today. On average, this event usually records an attendance of about 67000. It is held on the 12th to 14th of June and tickets cost from £30.

Goodwood Festival of speed

This year’s theme of this event is: “Fast and Fearless: Racing on the Edge.” It is anticipated that this year’s event will be a historic one as they will be celebrating a number of racing milestones including, the 60th annual anniversary of Sir Stirling Moss; he will drive an iconic 300 SLR Mercedes Benz up the Goodwood hill climb. The event will take place from 25th June to 28th June at Goodwood, West Sussex and charges are From £51. More than 5 formula 1 teams are expected to participate in the event, among them, Ferrari and Mercedes. You can enjoy the Goodwood driving experience as Touring cars from the 80s hit the road too. The brand new Mazda MX-5 will make its UK debut while the 1,800bhp Koenigsegg Regera is also set to hit the hill. This event is family friendly since kids can enjoy racing up the hill in box carts while adults get autographs from their favorite drivers.

Berkshire Motor Show

This is a more relaxed auto show aimed at raising funds for the Child Lung Foundation. It is nevertheless full of entertaining performances of circus dancers, fun-fair shows as well as chainsaw carvers. A tug-of- war contest makes the event more exciting. Cars come rather at the end of the event, where participants showcase their classic collections. It is held at the Prospect Park, Reading on the 5th of July. 

Silverstone Classic

This is a unique motor show held at Silverstone, Northamtonshire from the 24th to 2th July. Entrance fee is from £40. Families can enjoy 3 days of non-stop racing and a display of thousands of classic cars. Over a thousand historic racers are expected to show up at the Silverstone classic. There will be a live performance from Status Quo to spice up the event. Other than that, you can enjoy all manner of driving experiences from off-road races to drifting. There is a funfair too and hundreds of unique classic cars are due to go on sale at the auction. You don’t have to worry about accommodation for your family since Silverstone offers excellent “snoozebox” rooms as well as posh camping.
