Exploring A New Park

I had a few cards deliveries to make at the weekend, which I realise isn’t that scintillating for the kids, so I thought it’d be nice to tie in a trip to a new park at the end of the outing, as a treat for them being so good in the car watching me handing out my packages! And what could be more exciting than virgin territory – a new park, never before explored..?!

A few friends had mentioned it was good there, but we’d never quite got round to going, and as luck would have it, it was right by my last drop, so it was the obvious choice. Little Man actually just dropped off to sleep as we turned into the road that the park was on, but he soon came to when he realised fun was in the offing!

There was plenty to do, and Little Man climbed up onto some equipment all on his own – he was thrilled and so pleased with himself, though preferred to look over the top of the tunnel than go through it, despite Boo’s best efforts to entice him! Daddy got ‘roped’ in (do you see him there, on the rope bridge – do you see what I did?!) to venturing across the fort with Boo, and of course, Little Man was not going to miss out on that either!

It’s a shame, but it seems that as soon as November comes, playgrounds stand virtually empty. We can’t let all that play equipment go to waste, so as long as it’s dry, we’ll still be finding a playground every few days – just with warmer clothes on. Though I admit, I thought the ice cream van that was parked there was a little optimistic 😉

  1. Where’s this park? Anywhere we might know? Sorry, I’ll stop with the questions now! I agree with you, they’re often very empty this time of year so you can have a good play in relative peace and quiet.

  2. Looks like a great park, and yes, there’s no reason not to get out there and enjoy it on a dry day with a good warm coat on. It’s a shame so many people don’t bother in the Winter, but makes it nice and peaceful for the rest of us, I suppose! #CountryKids

  3. Well, kids’ playgrounds have come on LOTS !! Our local one as children in our road had one of the big metal roundabouts, 4 swings and my favourite-one of those long horses. Remember those ?? Around 6 could sit on them and they were tremendous. A pity it’s not getting much use. The weather never kept us away from ours !!

  4. Like you I fail to see why the parks are so empty at the moment. But great for those that wrap up and still get out for some fun. Nice to see Daddy joining in with the park fun, thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

  5. I love visiting a new park. You are right, it’s a shame to see them so empty during the colder months but we’ll take advantage of any dry days and head to our local park for some fresh air!

  6. I think new parks are fantastic – and free, always a bonus. It is ashame people don’t really go out as much when it’s a bit colder. This does look a very good park.

  7. Looks like a lovely park, and nice to have some family fun time together! There’s a few parks near me which seem to stand empty a lot, regardless of the weather, which seems a shame. I love getting monkey out to explore… As long as it’s not wet and miserable!
