Christmas at the National Forest Adventure Farm

We do enjoy our trips to the National Forest Adventure Farm. We’ve so far been for our first summer outing there, for Spudfest, for Halloween and last week we went to see what was going on there this Christmas. Every weekend until Christmas now, and Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th December sees a programme of festive entertainment added to the already fun farm activities. Every adult gets to go free with a full paying child, too!

So what did we get up to?….

Well, we naturally still had to visit the animals. Little Man adores seeing the chickens, both kids love running around by the outside pens, and we like to check on the piglets we saw when we first visited as they were so small then, but they have grown!

We then made our way over to Santa’s grotto. We liked the sleigh to sit and pose in on the way in, the elf rules are fun, the wait was short and there’s a sweet little workshop, where we ended up choosing our gifts from.

The Santa meet was lovely, with Boo totally chatty as always, and Little Man perching and unsure!

The gifts were good, and it was nice to go into the festively decked out log cabin that was the workshop and select the toys for ourselves. Boo chose a Pebble Pets set and Little Man went for a Furry Twists set.

As we came out of there, there was a bouncy Figgy Pudding awaiting us!

Fun! We then watched The Christmas Show, which involved elves working hard to get Christmas spirit back up, with the help of the children in the audience.

Little Man and Boo were totally wrapped up in this one, sitting together concentrating, until they needed to go forward to the stage and play a part in raising Christmas spirits again. It was well-performed and really managed to engage the kids that were there, which was sweet to see.

There was then time for a play outside, and the kids do love the play areas here…

Before we were back inside for a spot of Elf Training! The kids learned how to tell elf jokes and got involved in some elf dancing, which Boo absolutely loved!  You’ll see here how she’s totally concentrating on learning her moves, whilst Little Man’s just wondering around!

There’s also a nativity play on, reindeer feeding and a Christmas singalong, but Little Man was flagging in need of a nap, so unfortunately we missed those. And as always, they have the quad barrel rides, pony grooming, animal handling, huge indoor soft play and the tractor and trailer ride. As you can see, there’s loads to see and do to keep the kids busy and happy! We loved it, as always!

Disclosure: We received entrance FOC for the purposes of this review, but as always, all words and opinions remain my own.

  1. National Forest Adventure Farm always seems to disappoint anyone who visit there! It’s great that they’ve got so many activities going on and the kids can take part in all of it. Sometimes you go to places that are supposed to be aimed at kids and it can go right over their heads! Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  2. This looks a lot of fun for the family! I love the photo of the two of them with Santa although they look a little unsure haha the show looks fun what a great way to spend a day and get in the festive spirit!xx

  3. We do love the National Forest Adventure Farm too, it’s a shame it’s just that little bit too far for us to make it a regular trip. It’s lovely to see all they have to offer for Christmas though.

  4. I’ve said this before, but I do love how this venue changes through the year, it sounds like they always put on such a good seasonal show! Lovely photos of your two enjoying all the activities xx #CountryKids
