Birthday Additions To My TBR Pile

Of course we all know that I needed more books. It was pretty much a given that I was going to buy a huge stack of them on my birthday, wasn’t it? A book-buying binge is pretty much synonymous with my birthday!

You may be aware that I already have a significant To Be Read pile. I’m not sure of the exact number of books that I own and have yet to read, and I do my best to avoid checking and counting them, but I’d guess it’s in the region of around 40 books. Ish. Give or take a dozen. So I am aware that I didn’t need any more books, but when has that ever been relevant to a bookish spree? Never!

Here are some of the books that I have managed to acquire over the last week, a good mix so that I can skip from genre to genre with each new read.

I’ve got several of my favourite authors in there, along with a few books that I have had my eye on reading for a while. I’ve also a couple of regency romance books I’m waiting for on order along with a Lynsay Sands Argeneau novel. I have read most of these authors before, so I know I will enjoy them. I picked up one of those Nora Roberts books in a book shop and then knew that I’d have to read the whole trilogy, so came home and ordered the other two. It had to be done.

My problem now is choosing the order in which to read them all, they all tempt me to pick them up immediately! I did put this photo on Instagram a couple of days ago and there were a lot of people recommending I read Eleanor Oliphant next, so I know that’s a very popular one. I might need to wait until I have no plans for a day or so before I read that one, so that I can just read it all in one go as it seems like it might grip me.

Have you read any of these? What are you reading and loving at the moment?

Sharing is caring!

  1. I’ve read the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts, it was so good I recommended it to a friend, it’s a nice mix of romance and fantasy. I’ve also read The Cosy Teashop in the Castle, a lovely little romance. A Spring Affair, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society are both on my own TBR list so I’m interested to see your thoughts on them also.

    1. I am just about to start The Cosy Teashop in the Castle and then I think I’ll move onto that trilogy, sounds great, thanks!
