And So It Begins….

Today I’m linking up with the fabulous What’s the Story? and the sublime Magic Moments, and sharing with you a photo of Boo and Little Man, taken a few months ago.

I was in the kitchen, leaving them both in the playroom for a few minutes. Little Man was safely in his chair and quietly content, and Boo, so I thought, was happily playing with her dolls and dress up. Moments later, I popped back in and this is what I found…..

Boo&LittleMan

Poor Little Man! He clearly didn’t know what to make of it either, though I should point out that I’d heard no shouts or cries of protestation, so he seemed bemused more than anything else. Boo was pleased with herself, having managed to turn her baby brother into a princess. The tiara is in place, the shoes are there, so I’m thinking she tried to put them on him and he’s even ‘holding’ the bag! It was obviously a camera moment, not only because they looked so cute to me, but because I felt that this moment encapsulated the beginning of the long sibling years ahead of them – Boo bossing Little Man around, him just going along with it for an easy life (though would secretly plot to get his revenge at surprise moments!). I confess that I see this road ahead vividly for them, as I, too, have a younger brother… 😉

  1. What a lovely magic moment! I’ve found that siblings playing with each other is such a step as it really shows another side of them! Sometimes it makes it easier for us as parents, but equally, there are some pretty tough moments ahead!

    1. Oh yes, very much a ‘rough with the smooth’ time! He’s 11 months old now, so they are playing together a little already, and I love watching them together 🙂

  2. That is such a fantastic photo and what a brilliant story. I’m sure it won’t always be like this but what a perfect moment. You’ll be so glad you captured Little Man looking so shell shocked! Thank you for linking up with #whatsthestory

    1. He looked too cute not to photo him! He’ll love that photo when he grows up..or not so much! Thanks for hosting What’s the Story? X

    1. I adore it. No matter how trying a day I might have had, watching the pair of them play together while we get their bath ready always makes me happy 🙂

    1. It is brilliant, thank you. My mum’s got a photo of my brother in a dress & mop cap when he’s around 5 – I persuaded him to do it, so I’m hopeful she has a few years of torturing him like this yet… 😉
