All About Me

The fabulous Gina, over at Cold Tea and Smelly Nappies, has tagged me in an All About Me meme. You can read all about it here, and find out more about Gina.

The idea is based on the All About Me’s that children are often asked to write when they first start school, so Gina is now asking us to share ours – like it, Gina :-). So here are the questions, and ‘All About Me’…

1) First off tell us your name (an easy one)

Jocelyn Reading

2) I live at home with…

The husband, Boo, Little Man and Harry, our Basset Bleu de Gascogne.

3) My favourite thing to do is…many people

Read. Or browse in a bookshop. Or buy books. No, it’s reading.

4) My favourite thing to eat is…

Ice Cream. No hesitation, no doubt.

5) When I get cross I…

Shout. I’m absolutely not a bottler-upper!

6) Sometimes I worry because…

My family are healthy, we are happy, so surely the bubble will burst? I’m actually very much the optimist, but this scares me. Will not dwell..

7) My favourite book is…

One book? Seriously? Did you not see answer 3?! I genuinely find that impossible to answer. If I want a horror, I think The Amityville Horror’s tough to beat, for a classic, I’d have to choose Pride & Prejudice, for feel-good, I love Romancing Mr Bridgerton, and a favourite from my childhood, The Animals of Farthing Wood. Just mentioning 4 is very good for me, I think!

8) My favourite toy is (easy now)…

My iPhone. I don’t know what I’d do without it – very sad, but true!

9) I dislike…

Rudeness and bad manners. It costs nothing to be kind, and say ‘thank you’.

10) When I grow up I want to be…

Happy. So far, so good.

What about you? Would love to hear your answers to these questions. Can you choose just one favourite book?!

  1. What a great idea. So lovely to learn about you like this. I love reading too, but don’t get nearly enough time to do it now, with a toddler in my life. I make up for it by reading lots with S instead

    1. Thanks. Gina is clever! It is harder to find time to read, what with the kids, the business & the blog, but I squeeze a little in each day – saves my sanity!

  2. I’ve been tagged in this too, must write the post 🙂 Lovely to learn more about the person behind the blog! The Animals of Farthing Wood, and the rest of the series, were my absolute favourites when I was young! I think you did very well to limit yourself to four books…!

    1. I am pleased with myself for achieving that! I loved that book so much – nice to find a fellow fan. I still recall the story and characters so vividly. Can’t wait until Boo’s old enough to read it.

  3. Lovely post. I’m with you entirely on being lost without the iPhone and disliking non-mannered folk. They really do go a long way and they’re free, what’s not to like? 🙂
