A Festive Visit To National Sea Life Centre Birmingham

The kids have got a bonus day off school today, courtesy of the General Election. Along with taking Herbie for a stroll to the polling station, we decided to make the most of a few free hours in the week and visit National Sea Life Centre Birmingham. We always enjoy visiting, but this time it was made more special as it was a festive visit, a chance to see Santa Claus.

We love starting with the penguin pool as the penguins are always up to something! They didn’t disappoint as they were all active both in and out of the water today.

We have visited the Sea Life Centre many, many times over the years so the kids are familiar with the displays and we all have our favourites that we like to spend a little extra time looking at. It’s always fun to stop at the rock pool to see who we can meet there and then we have fish that we like to visit and check on!

The huge pools are always popular and we enjoy the underwater tunnel – we like to spot the giant sea turtle. For me, the jellyfish area is the highlight so we spent plenty of time there this morning. I can’t get over how they move, they look otherworldly.

We queued for about twenty minutes to see Santa Claus, with Little Man getting more excited by the second! I like this as a Santa visit as it’s all indoors so the weather doesn’t stop us (and it’s been awful today), it’s included with the normal entry, it feels festive as we wait by the penguin pool and there’s always a little gift from Santa. They are also currently showing The Polar Express in 4D, sprinkling Christmas cheer around.

Ah, they were so happy meeting Santa! He asked them how they were, what they would like for Christmas and wished them a Merry Christmas. Thanks for a fun morning, National Sea Life Centre Birmingham.

Would your family enjoy this?
