8 Things You Didn’t Know Your Plants Can Do

I am something of a latecomer to the wonders of gardening, but I am now very keen. For so many years I paid no attention to what was happening out there, but over the last 3 to 4 years I have found myself increasingly excited by seeing what the seasons will bring, planning the garden, spending time out there and choosing new seeds, plants and shrubs. Yes, I am a full convert, and one of my annual highlights is now visiting Gardener’s World Live with my mum – seriously, my twenty-something-year-old self would not believe it!

My favourites are roses, so I have plenty of those, along with peonies, hydrangeas, clematis, honeysuckle, oh, seriously, I could go on and on so I will stop there. Every time I visit garden centres or even just my mum’s garden, I spot another plant that I’d like to have so it goes on the list. Fortunately, my mum is a brilliant gardener so she’ll often propagate cuttings for me from her own flowers and shrubs – her garden is like my own free garden centre!

Along with appreciating the aesthetics, I am always interested in the value that plants can add, whether it be to wildlife or to our own health. Natural remedies will have been around for many years, and chemical-free options are not only less damaging to the world and our bodies, but can also often be cheaper, so a win all round.

So it was with interest that I read this infographic, 8 Things You Didn’t Know Your Plants Can Do….

I’ll now be getting myself some golden pothos for my productivity and I definitely need some sage to save money on hair dye!

Did you know about all of these uses?
