Word of the Week 9/3/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

I’m often juggling. Aren’t we all? But I’ve felt it quite keenly this week.

At the end of last week, Little Man was poorly with a sickness bug. It meant he was off school on Thursday, and Friday though so was Boo as it was a snow day. As such, I lost two days that I’d planned to study and work on, and of course, my boy just wanted me the whole time and over the weekend as this one really took it out of him and he didn’t perk up until Sunday.

So I started Monday with a huge to-do list, though I also had a workshop at school to attend that morning. It’s been one of those weeks where I’ve been aware of juggling many different tasks, donning my many different hats. ‘Juggling’ implies keeping all of the balls in the air and doing it well, but I’d have to say I feel I have jumped from task to task, flitting from one subject to another so I’m not entirely sure I have nailed it!

I have been playing catch up on my studying, and I have worked on both of my modules this week which I don’t normally do. I have been working like mad, here on the blog, on YouTube and behind the scenes trying to pull together the Bring Back Paper boxes I mentioned last week. The house has been cleaned, bleached and scrubbed, with I can’t even count how many loads of washing done, as is the way when a sickness bug hits the household. I have been reworking some holiday plans as I’ve a deadline coming up and a couple of things have changed – I had this sorted before Christmas yet now with my Fastpass window opening this month, I need to change them!

And the role that always seems to be the one that I least think about comes to the fore this week, me as a wife. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday, 16 years, so we were out celebrating last night and today the Husband has the day off so we’re off out. Which I love, I love spending time just the two of us, but it does mean I have lost another work day this week, so I have been cramming as much as I could in over the last few days to allow for it!

Yes, I often juggle, but this week I have really felt it.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

  2. It’s hard when you’re playing catching up and trying to juggle too many things. I can relate to that this week as Jessica has also been on sick which has put me back with some of the jobs I’d planned to do. Hope you have a lovely day out with your husband today and congratulations on 16 years! 🙂
