Word of the Week 6/10/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It really couldn’t be anything else! It was Boo’s 8th birthday on Tuesday, but it’s fair to say that it has dominated the week.

Last Friday it started with her aunt and uncle coming over on the evening to celebrate with her, with a takeaway, Moana and presents to open. Then we had nothing planned on Saturday as we wanted a slow day as we knew the next few days would be packed. But the Husband came home Friday evening with tickets for the football that he’d been given that day and he just couldn’t resist taking Boo to her first match as a little birthday treat. She loved it all, though time will tell whether she’ll commit to being a lifelong Villa fan!

On Sunday it was her birthday party with friends, a highly anticipated Go Ape party, a day of fun in the fresh air with great company. She loved every moment.

Monday saw my dad coming with me on the school pick up much to the delight of the kids, and he then spent the evening with us whilst Boo and he played the game he’d got her, Twister – that was fun to watch! My aunt and cousin also chose that evening to pop in and Boo got to open and play with more presents.

Tuesday was the actual birthday, though you’d be forgiven for thinking it was any of the other days! She had a fabulous day and was so pleased with all of her gifts. The evening involved cake, family, another takeaway and another movie, Sing this time. Which was aptly musical as we got her an iPod which might as well be surgically attached to her now!

These last couple of days have been all about playing with her new things, reading new books, watching new films, wearing new clothes, listening to new music – you get the idea. And then this weekend we’re off into Birmingham so that she can spend some of her birthday money. Seriously, I want to be 8 again, it’s pretty good!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
