Word of the Week – 4/4/14

Thank you for continuing to link up! I love reading everyone’s chosen words, and it’s great to see so many familiar linkers, as well as new ones each week. It is a linky, so do please take the time to visit a few other posts if you link up, as that’s only fair.

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. Come join in!

My word of the week this week is:

stationery

I am a fan of stationery, so this is a good word for me to use for my week!

For those of you that don’t know, this is actually National Stationery Week, so it does seem fitting to have this as my word. I was also lucky enough to have some beautiful new stationery from the children for Mother’s Day – they know me so well! As I was away last week, I had letters to reply to on my return, so I’ve been catching up on my correspondence this week, too. I’ve been ordering myself some blog business cards from 123Print, and will share my review and offer a giveaway on those soon. And, in case you missed it, I’ve launched #BringBackPaper this week, which I’m very excited about, as it’s a chance for me to totally indulge my stationery obsession, run a book swap, and hopefully find other like-minded folk! I’m also offering #BringBackPaper stationery treat bundles from my shop, so I’ve been ordering in some gorgeous writing sets, notecards and jotter pads for those. Oh, I do love pretty paper….!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best? Grab the badge, link up and share, and do please take the time to read a few others…

  1. I love stationery. As a child I collect the ones with dainty designs and strawberry smelling ones. After school me & my classmates would exchange sheets of them. This went through high school & college and my stationery box is so full of wonderful paper items! Everything is gone is a second tho when there were flashflood. Everything is gone with my books and comics and graphic novels =( Sad story I know but good memories.

  2. I love stationary so hard!!!! As a teacher any excuse to get a new snazzy pencil case. I recently brought all of the Cath Kidston stationary. It made me so so so happy! xxx

  3. I love pretty stationery and can spend hours wandering around places like Paperchase (have you been to the branch on Tottenham Court Road? HEAVEN!).

Bunny got a card-making and scrapbooking set for her birthday and we were playing with that yesterday, and it was so hard to not join in and take over as she created some thank you cards with it.

I will be linking up later, when I’m in from work. x

  4. What a great idea, especially being so far away from home I find letters and cards are treasured so much more now and significantly more than an email would. Great campaign 🙂

  5. I love cards whether thank you, birthday, mother or invitations. Getting an e-card at Christmas is just not the same – I mean, how do I put it on my mantelpiece? Looks like you have some beautiful stationery in your shop.

  6. I adore pretty paper and cards; but I fear if I added more paper to my life right now I might drown under it… My boys bring a tree a week home as it is 🙂 Love the idea of #bringbackpaper though x

  8. Hi Jocelyn,
I have just managed to finish my post about chocolate and linked it. I am so slow… I will now have a look at what everyone has been up to! I love stationery too! I cannot walk past a shop that sells pens or notebooks without stopping for a browse. x Mel

  9. Finally got round to reading about your launch of #BringBackPaper – and I think it’s a fantastic idea! Though I do most of my writing on computers I do an awful lot of thinking through notebooks (I think there might be a guest post in that if you’re interested…) – Arthur gave me a very cute one for Mother’s Day which I’ll have to remember to share. And there is nothing quite like receiving snail mail in this digital age. I have a couple of friends who are brilliant at sending cards and I definitely aspire to be more like them. x

    1. Absolutely I’m interested in a guest post! I write and blog on the PC, but can’t think in front of it either – my best ideas always come with pen & paper!
