Word of the Week 28/10/16

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

hosting

Primarily because I have been having blog issues that have meant I have been looking into switching my hosting company. It is a problem that I have encountered before, but my hosting company have not been great at resolving it, which is pretty useless to me as I have very little technical knowledge and of course I need the blog up and running at all times. I have never changed hosts before, so this is a whole new world, and I apologise now if the blog plays up over the next few days whilst I am working to get it back on track and I change hosting providers.

In addition to this, the word fits as this week we’ve also decided what we are going to be doing for Christmas this year and it seems that I am hosting Christmas dinner here for the second year in a row and I am really looking forward to that. It’s only us four and my mum, so not remotely stressful and it means the kids can happily play with their new toys with Nanny whilst I get on and get the dinner ready.

And finally, as it has been half term, we have hosted a fair few play dates this week, which has been lovely. It would have been a relaxed week if it hadn’t been for my pesky blog issues!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share.

Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.

  1. Sorry to hear that you have had issues with the blog this week and hope that the move to a new host goes well. We’re also hosting Christmas dinner this year which always makes me a bit nervous – it’ll be us plus hubby’s parents – but I’ve learned not to put pressure on myself to provide a perfect dinner – the family time together is more important! Blog issues aside, it sounds like you’ve had a lovely half term. Thank you for hosting #WotW and hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

    1. It has been frustrating, but I think we’re all sorted now, phew! Yes, family time is the key at Christmas, not one meal, I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time x

  3. Changing hosts must be a scary thing to do, I’ve had trouble getting on to this page today so I can see that you are having problems. Good luck with the change over. Everything else hosting related this week sounds much nicer 🙂

  4. Sorry to hear about your hosting problems. Have you tried TSO? They’ve got good customer service. I’m really pleased with them 🙂 We’ve also hosted a couple of playdates this week and more to come, especially since T and her friends won’t be going back to school yet because of two inset days 😉 #wotw

  5. Oh no! That’s such a shame about your hosting problems….I hope it’s sorted soon!
Christmas sounds fantastic….It sounds very relaxed.
It sounds like a great half term…Play dates are always such fun x

  6. Blog stuff can be so stressful. Hope sorted soon 🙂 I love planning Christmas – sounds quite chilled for you this year again. Hope half term been fun and thanks for hosting xxp

  7. Sorry to hear about your blog issues, I have noticed lately that I can only access your latest posts if I click though the links you post on Twitter. It’s nice of you to host Christmas dinner I’ve taken this year off hosting anything at all the family had a grumble but it’s done me the world of good. #WotW

    1. Hopefully that will all soon be sorted! It’s only us and my mum so it won’t be difficult for me, but good for you 🙂

  8. It’s so frustrating when your blog goes down isn’t it? Particularly when you want to get some ‘blogmin’ done… And at the other end of the spectrum, what time will you be serving up your Christmas dinner?! 😉 Thanks for hosting #wotw

  9. Blog issues are such a bloomin pain, I hope you get it sorted. And i have made that exact same decision too. I could much rather be at home at Christmas so would rather have a houseful than go any where else and I cant wait x
