Word of the Week 27/10/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

Ah, the joys of colouring!

It is so peaceful, it is so quiet, it is so calm. I cannot believe the amount of time my two have spent colouring over this past week, it has been so lovely!

As it’s been half term, we’ve had plenty of fun, playdates, playgrounds, the cinema, eating out, lots of activities and games at home and an overnight adventure, and through it all there has been colouring.

Boo loved colouring from when she was a toddler, but Little Man was never that interested and it barely held his attention. Until now! It’s him that has instigated many, many colouring sessions this week and it has been great to see the attention to detail on his part, he is very good at it all of a sudden! And he’ll sit and do it for ages, along with his sister and I’ve joined in with my colouring books a few times, too. I could not have asked for a better activity to take over our week, I have loved its slow pace, mess-free and peaceful ways!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. Colouring is one of those activities that everyone can enjoy, my two colour most days so we always have felts, pencils and paper on hand at all times. It sounds like you have all had a nice half-term break. Have a great weekend x

  2. I love colouring, but my kids prefer to draw, they have tons of art books filled with drawings and when I look through them I see a real talent coming out.

  3. My teen loves colouring….She has a couple of the adult colouring books. It is so relaxing. My youngest rarely does but now and again she will sit and spend hours. It’s a lovely way to spend time x

  5. I remember colouring days. I used to keep all the colouring books in easy reach, but they always preferred me to draw something that they would then colour. Now it is much more about them drawing for themselves. Wonderful that Little Man has discovered a love of colouring. Such a great activity. Enjoy your weekend.

    1. Little Man used to want that, but my husband’s the artist here so he’d sit and draw him whatever he wanted, whereas Boo’s always preferred drawing it herself x
