Word of the Week 24/11/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

We went to Drayton Manor over the weekend for their Magical Christmas and we all absolutely loved it. Meeting Father Christmas, seeing all of the festive decor and reindeer has inspired me to get a move on with Christmas. I know that I still have plenty of time, but I like to be finished on the gift buying by the end of this month, so that I can sit and wrap them in early December, ideally whilst watching a Christmas film.

And where the presents are concerned, inspiration has struck! I have a few people that I do find tricky to buy for, as I’m sure we all do. Fortunately, I am now all set as the ideas suddenly flowed for me this week, phew!

With all of these festive ponderings, I was then inspired to play around and create some Christmas themed snail mail, which was fun to do. I’ll share more about that here next week.

I’ve been enjoying my #30DaysofPaper Instagram challenge and it has been so lovely to hear from people that I have inspired them to pick up a book or send out a letter. My work here is done!

I have got so much studying done this week. Perhaps the break last week did me good? Every day I have powered through my to-do list and then hit the books. It’s been good to wake each day inspired to get cracking on them.

Finally, yesterday afternoon Boo had an ‘Inspire Workshop’ at school. I do like going in for these as it’s a chance for me to see her with her friends in the classroom. It was a session around storytelling and it was fun.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

  1. It sounds like a very inspiring week. I love my kid’s Inspire workshops, I’ve done all sorts now, from crafting Christmas decorations to lessons in maths, but my favourite was the poetry writing class I did with Boo. Isn’t it weird how lovely it is to go back to school, I loved learning as a child, but I didn’t like the school situation.
    Thanks for hosting x

  2. I’m hoping to get all the buying done by the end of this month too and I think I’m on track! It sounds like you have had a very good week! The ‘Inspire Workshop’ at school sounds like a lot of fun! I love going into my girls school to see what she’s up to x
