Word of the Week 20/10/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

In so many ways!

Today the kids will break up for half term, hooray! With it being the first holiday with them both at school, I am keen to only work the bare minimum over the next week so I have been writing plenty of posts this week and ensuring all other admin is all up to date to enable me to have the break with them.  We do have a little overnight trip planned towards the end of the week, the preparations are now all in place. They have both earned a good rest, and having gone along to their parents evenings last night, I am so proud of them I want time to over-cuddle them all week!

I have had my first Open University tutorial this week, and it’s been the first one that I have attended online. Fortunately, I did look over how to access it a few days before I needed to as I discovered that I needed a headset and microphone, so Amazon to the rescue! I am glad that I took a few minutes to prepare for that one! I have then been preparing for my first assignment of this new level three module, which has involved a good sprinkling of procrastination, but I am getting there.

I have started to think about Christmas and have bought a few bits and pieces for the children. I now have lists of ideas for them and I think I’m pretty much sorted with it all. The problem is that once I start to think about it, I want to get it all sorted straightaway! This year I have decided to wait another month or so to do the bulk of the shopping as I often buy early and then keep buying more and more so I am hoping this will help me to stay in budget. We will see.

And yes, there have been some Disney preparations, too. I’m just sorting out my passport as I know I need to have one of the newer versions in order to travel to America, and then I’ll get our ESTAs sorted. I thought I’d best get the routine stuff covered and then I can concentrate on the exciting preparations!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

  1. The half-term has come round so quickly, I’ve done the same as you and tried to get ahead but I think I will still have to work a little. I love being prepared and often feel quite out of sorts if I’m not. I’ve had to make a spreadsheet for Christmas presents this year as I’m guilty of forgetting what bargains I’ve stashed away then buying more on top. Well done on resisting the urge to get it all done now. I hope you have a lovely weekend and half-term x

  2. I am so ready for half term….I hope you have a good one.
Your week sounds a lot like mine….I have got a lot of blog work done over the past week so I can do things with the girls next week. x

  3. We have another week to go until half term, but i think this year will be a bit different to any other year with Joe being at High School and no change for Jack as he will be at work on college days. I haven’t even started to think about Christmas we still cant decide what to do for Christmas dinner x
