Word of the Week – 18/4/14

Thank you for continuing to link up! I love reading everyone’s chosen words, and it’s great to see so many familiar linkers, as well as new ones each week. It is a linky, so do please take the time to visit a few other posts if you link up, as that’s only fair.

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. Come join in!

My word of the week this week is:

industrious

I have been totally on it this last week! I’ve been doing loads more gardening and the landscaping and tough jobs are all now complete, so I’ve just fun tasks like planting and creating our wildlife area still to do. You can read where I’m at with it all in my latest Project Garden post. I’ve moved Boo’s bedroom around, got some of her toys up for sale and others have been taken to a charity shop, and then I had room to create a reading nook in her room, which we LOVE! Whilst de-cluttering, I also had a good rummage around in their playroom and got rid of a few more things – I do love to de-clutter, as it makes me feel so organised. I’ve moved some furniture around downstairs and created a little area by the back door for all of my gardening things. I’ll share more on that soon, as redecorating the whole kitchen is next on my to-do list, so I’ll blog about that one separately when I get there. I am totally on top of organising #BringBackPaper book swaps, sending out the gorgeous stationery bundles, my own correspondence is all up to date, and I’ve lots of blog posts written and scheduled. I’ve bought  and wrapped birthday presents for both this month and next, and started squirrelling bits away for other birthdays later in the year. The house is clean and tidy, the washing basket empty and I’ve no ironing pile – all done and put away! And, lest you believe that all of this industriousness has been at the expense of time with my family, the kids have been doing various Easter activities and crafts every day, we’ve christened our new tuff spot, seen family and been to a blogging event together. So yep, feeling pretty good. And I’ve had time to read a couple of books 😉

  1. Wow! Wow! Wow! And there I was feeling all pleased with myself for what I achieved yesterday and now it seems almost pathetic! Especially as the ironing pile is still huge! I think you need to share some of your super powers!

  2. I don’t know what I’m more impressed with – the garden, Boo’s nook or the fact that you’ve read two books this week! I can barely manage two pages at the mo. well done you xx ps. I love the word industrious

  3. It feels good to get things done, although I wouldn’t know because i’ve been too busy relaxing! Well done you, im going to try and catch up on all my things this weekend!

  4. Your organisation leaves me impressed once more. Well done for having such a productive week! I have just linked (‘Easter’) but will not be commenting until tonight as I am having serious trouble with the blog. x Mel

  5. Wow. I am completely in awe, I wish I had the time to get half as much done! I honestly don’t know how you do it. You must never ever sit down! X #Wotw

  6. I’m not surprised-industrious should be one of your words most weeks I think 🙂 I’m still in holiday mind set, although starting to mentally prepare for the return home right now. Not feeling terribly inspired by that I have to say! Hopefully your industriousness will have a knock on effect with me x

    1. Holiday mindset is nice and you need that break sometimes. Enjoy the long weekend & keep on relaxing 🙂

  7. Wowzer!! You have been crazily productive. If only i could be so good and get all my jobs done like you! I love Boo’s little nook in her room, so very cute and such a lovely idea. Seems like we have both been very busy getting our gardens ready for summer. Glad you’ve had such a good week xxx

  8. What an amazingly productive week. I’m tired just thinking about it! I’m also so impressed with your new garden, and your ability to do all of this as a family so family time doesn’t suffer. Very inspiring xx

    1. Thanks, I feel so productive! And I’ve just been watering the garden and checking on it – love doing that now. The children are a little older than your two, so it is easier to get them involved outside – couldn’t have done it so easily this time last year.

  9. Wow! I’m not sure where you get the time and energy from! As soon as I get on top of the house stuff then the blog seems to suffer. I’m very impressed!

    Have a lovely Easter! x

    1. It’s a tricky balance, and I’m not too sure how I found it! Probably never be able to repeat it again 😉

  10. Good grief, my head is spinning Jocelyn! Where do you find the time?! Such a brilliant feeling when you get on top of things though – my ironing basket is heaving at the moment. It’s causing me nightmares 😉 Great word!xx

  11. Wow, I’m exhausted just reading about your industrious-ness (is that a word?)! Some weeks it just all comes together and it feels great, and from your post it seems like ur feeling fantastic! Hope you let yourself enjoy some down time this Easter x

  12. Fantastic! I am a bit jealous. I have been striving for this feeling for a long time now. I know that I have managed to declutter a lot having just finished childminding 2 weeks ago. I know that will get there. But I am starting a new voluntary position on Tues and I am so nervous and wanted to be as organized as possible AND have lovely family time. But I haven’t been able to do everything. Well Done! Such a satisfying feeling.

    1. hard to balance it all, I know. I just had one of those weeks where it came together, probably won’t be repeated for another 6 months now! Good luck with your new position x
