Word of the Week 18/3/16

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

new

We’ve had a week full of new experiences, so this has to be our word.

At the weekend we took the kids over to Kenilworth Castle for the first time. They absolutely loved it, running around the ruins and exploring. It was a beautiful day and so wonderful seeing how happy they were there. I love anywhere like this and seeing how much the kids enjoyed it, we decided to become English Heritage members whilst we were there. We now have a pack full of new information and a handbook of all the new places that we can explore with our membership. Whilst I was completing the paperwork, the kids and the Husband indulged in some jam and preserves tasting in the gift shop, so now Little Man has a new-found love of lemon curd!

Monday then saw Little Man and I having a play-date with new friends. In a bid to help settle him into nursery, I’d invited one of his friends round and I was keeping my fingers crossed that I’d get on with his mum! I did, she was lovely, and the boys were so happy playing with each other.

Mid-week Little Man and I decided to explore a new soft play centre together, and he absolutely loved it there, so we’ve a new go-to haunt now. I love seeing him in places like this as he’s so content and confident running and jumping about.

We’ve been fortunate enough to receive some new toys and a magazine to review this week, so I’ll be sharing more about those very soon with you as well as offering give-aways of them. All fabulous!

The brighter weather has also meant that for the first time this year, I have been gardening. Oh, I was so happy to get back out there, cutting everything back and seeing all of the new growth shooting up. The new season is definitely upon us.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share.

  1. I went to Kenilworth when I was a kid so been ages!! Think I’ll put in on my list. Glad the play date went well 🙂 Tne weather was lovely on Monday – we got out to the park and was so warm and sunny. Enjoy the reviewing and have a fab weekend 🙂 Thanks for hosting x

  2. Love the sound of all your new experiences this week – Kenilworth Castle sounds like such an interesting place to visit and glad that Little Man enjoyed his playdate with his friend from nursery and that you had a nice time with his friend’s mum too. It’s been great to have the sunshine this week and get out in the garden – so lovely to see new little shoots springing up everywhere. Hope you have a lovely weekend and thank you for hosting #WotW 🙂

  3. New is exciting word. I guess you could say “new” could also be our #wotw because of the impending move… Anyway, love finding new places to explore or new places to go to especially little ones, as for new toys? Now that is always a good thing! x

  4. Hi Jocelyn, new sounds like the perfect WotW for you. It’s fantastic that your children enjoy historical places as much as you and I bet you have some great times visiting other British Heritage sites together.

I remember those days of meeting new Mums, it’s nice that you got along with Little Mans new friends Mum.

    Thank you for hosting.

    xx

    1. Ah, that’s wonderful. I’ve made great friends through my daughter, so would be lovely to do so with my son, too x

  7. What a fab week! We don’t have many English Heritage properties near us, but are quite spoilt for choice when it comes to the National Trust. Buying an annual membership is one of the best things we have done. Xxx
