Word of the Week 10/11/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It seems odd to choose ‘lighter’ when the days are getting darker, doesn’t it? Bear with me!

I am feeling lighter this week. Towards the end of last week I had one of those moments where there was a bit too much in my head, weighing me down. I juggle quite a few balls, and I started to worry that some might drop. Of course all I needed to do was to just take a step back and break it all down. I know I am my own worst enemy as I see everything that needs to be done and just want to get to arranging and completing it all immediately. That’s not all that practical! So having now re-assessed, prioritised and powered through lots of work and sent my university assignment in, I feel much lighter.

My purse feels metaphorically lighter as I have made inroads into my Christmas shopping. I’ve managed to get cards, wrap and related paraphernalia this week as well as a fair few presents. It’s good to have things ticked off the list, which is something I’ll remind myself of when the credit card bill lands!

And the cherry on the top of ‘lighter’? I have been adopting healthier eating habits and getting to the gym where possible and it’s paying off as I am now quite a bit lighter than I have been for some time. Must keep at it, to allow for plenty of Christmas over-indulgence!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. I’m exactly the same as you, I want to do everything at once and get totally overwhelmed. I’m glad you managed to step back and break it all down this is something I definitely need to do as life just seems to be getting busier lately. Well done on adopting a healthier lifestyle, lots of room for those mince pies now ! Have a lovely weekend x

  2. Now that is a mixture of lighter. Must feel fantastic to get the assignments off your desk and out for marking. Powering through your Christmas list is good too and the healthy eating. I think after the indulgence of Halloween, my week has been a lot more healthy too. Let’s hope the card bill is a little lighter than you expect.

  3. I am glad things are better now this week….I know that feeling. Good luck with the university assignment.
I haven’t even thought about cards and wrapping paper. Those are the last things I seem to buy. lol
Well done with your weight loss and thank you for hosting xx

  4. Sometimes when we are in the depth of own issues it is hard to see, I am glad you have done something practical. A step back and working towards a solution can make a difference to how you feel. Hope you have a good weekend X #wotw

  5. You are so organised I have yet to start thinking about Christmas shopping, but its not too far away now is it, and I have been so bad lately I really need to get healthy again I have let it slide lately xx
