Word of the Week 23/3/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

It’s been one of those weeks where things have gone a little bit better than I had expected them to.

I had hoped to make a start on my End of Module Assessment for my level one Open University course this week. It’s not due in for a while, but I wanted to get ahead so that I could then concentrate on my level three module. Well, I did manage to make a start and surprised myself by managing to get it all written and finished this week. To have one module completed at this point is far better than I’d hoped for, and definitely takes the pressure off me.

This week saw our Disney World FastPass day arrive. In case you’ve no idea about what I am on about, this was when we could go in and book three rides for each day that we’re there, ensuring we needn’t queue too long for the headliners. I was booking them at 60 days out (yes, it’s now less than two months until we go!) and I managed to book in every ride and attraction that we wanted and all at the times that I was hoping for. It’s worked out better than I’d imagined it would, so we’re all really pleased about that.

Boo’s been poorly this week. She was not herself on Sunday and then was off school on Monday and Tuesday. Fortunately, she’s now better and her speed of recovery was much better than I’d expected as usually when she gets a virus and a temperature around this time of year she can be ill for a week or more, so it’s been great to see her bounce back relatively quickly this time.

Then what about the weather? It’s finally getting better! I didn’t enjoy the snow again at the weekend, but since then there have actually been a few moments where it’s felt positively spring-like, at last! And I know I might be saying this too soon, so yes remind me of this next month when I am complaining, but so far I am coping with the tree pollen season better than I normally do. This may well be because the cold weather has delayed it and I will be hit with it soon, but so far anti-histamines are curing my itchy eyes and all is under control. So far!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
