Come Join the #BringBackPaper Club!

You may have spotted that I ran a pen pal sign up here recently. Well, it went down very well and I have to say I was a little surprised by just how many people did sign up for it. I’d imagined I would be receiving five or six people looking for pen pals, but it was a lot more than that! So much so that it did take me a few hours more than I’d anticipated to match everyone up, double check and then triple check that it all worked, before emailing everyone with their new pen pal details. 5 Reasons To Keep A Journal In Your Family Life

Today I am delighted to be bringing you a guest post from the lovely folks over at Say Nice Things Stationery… We humans have always kept written accounts of our everyday lives. Whether carved into tablets (the stone kind!), decorated on cave walls or painted onto parchment, we’ve always found a way to reflect and record events for the benefit of ourselves and others. More recently however, as the digital world begins to take over almost every aspect of our lives it’s easy to view the written word as out of date and old fashioned in an age of pixels, Read more >

Getting Started with Brush Lettering

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the Husband has decided to take up a new papery hobby, brush lettering. He’s always enjoyed typography, fonts, designing colour combinations, hand lettering and so on, so this does seem like a natural choice for him. For me, I admire it but I’m not a neat writer at the best of times so am not drawn to this one, though I have to say watching him practice and create does tempt me to have a go myself. Maybe when he’s out I’ll sneak a try! Anyway, if you fancy giving this a Read more >

Papery Peep October 2016

Ah, another month, another Papery Peep! It’s been quite a papery month for me this month – though on reflection, it often is! I have been studying, of course, and have now submitted my first assignment of this year’s module and am enjoying reading about 15th and 16th century empire building. Aside from studying, I have read 6 books, a good mix of romance, chick lit, murder and horror, all of which I enjoyed. We were also fortunate to receive a spooky book package from the team at Puffin Books, which I unboxed and shared here. And then there was my Read more >
