Today I am delighted to be joining in with a gorgeous group of talented bloggers as we share a little Christmas inspiration for you. For my part I am going to be talking kids Christmas craft activities, all of which are nice and easy to do and have been big hits with my two. For full details of each activity, simply click on the link or image and it will take you through to the original blog post. First up, you could try making a Christmas centrepiece… This was so lovely to do with my daughter a few years ago, and Read more >

Gizmo Saves Christmas!

December is on the horizon now. Christmas music is playing, shops are becoming chaotic, trees are going up, presents are getting wrapped, so I think I can now talk freely about Christmas without it being ‘too early’! I want to talk about Christmas ads, as they seem to be such a huge deal now and a real part of the countdown to Christmas. Today I want to share with you a Christmas advert for animal-lovers, as Vision Direct releases its Christmas campaign for 2016. It is the story of Gizmo the pug, who you may remember from their viral ad Read more >

A Secret Santa Project

Oh, I do love a Secret Santa! When we were invited to take part in a Secret Santa I was keen to get involved as I do love the idea of these. There’s something special about choosing something for another family, so it was with excitement that I embarked upon the task. We were given the following list of gorgeous gift ideas from the team over at Meadow Kids and asked to spend a little time researching and reading about the blogger’s family that we were secretly assigned to. By a fabulous coincidence, we happened to be given the blog of a Read more >

Word of the Week 18/12/15

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week, the final one of 2015 – wow, that time has flown! As next Friday is Christmas Day and the following one New Year’s Day, Word of the Week will be taking a little break. Of course you’re more than welcome to blog your word if you want to round the year off, but I won’t be here with my linky as I’d like to take a little break with my family. But do not fear, I will be continuing it into 2016 so it will be back on Friday 8th January 2016. Read more >

Need Christmas Gift Inspiration?

The time is nearly upon us. Christmas is now next week! The presents need buying and wrapping before then, so are you all set? I like to get things ready quite early on, so I think I am all prepared now. Though I do often find that by buying gifts early, I end up getting a few extras that I see nearer to the time if they are a bargain or the kids mention ‘just one more thing’ that they would quite like to have. I’m not entirely sure that doing it my way is the most cost effective, but I Read more >

Christmas Fun at the National Forest Adventure Farm

At the weekend we went along to one of our favourite places, the National Forest Adventure Farm, to see what festive fun they had lined up. The kids were excited and I always look forward to our visits there as it’s a lovely place, with friendly staff and plenty to see and do. I’m pleased to say that we were not disappointed. On offer this Christmas are Santa’s Grotto, followed by a trip to the elves workshop to choose a present, Elf Training, a Christmas Show, a Nativity Play, meeting the reindeer, and this in addition to all the animals and Read more >

8 Ways to Switch Off During the Holiday Season

I’ve been thinking about the ways that I can switch off, unwind and relax as the busy season commences. I’ve Christmas to plan for, the blog’s getting busier as it always does around now, I’ve still studying to do and another assignment due in next week and the normal day to day and family life still needs my attention. I can already feel my head starting to spin! So I’ve been thinking about ways in which I can switch off from it all. The little things, I mean, the things that I can squeeze into my days in amongst the million Read more >

All Wrapped Up!

The time is drawing ever closer. The day that I half delight in, half dread. Yes, I’m taking about Christmas present wrapping day. I do not like wrapping. I am not very good at wrapping. OK, I’m no good at all at wrapping. I blame my lack of artistic skills combined with my tendency towards impatience and my non-existent perfectionist qualities. These things do not really add up to prettily presented packages. Back in the day, when the Husband and I both worked full time before we had the kids, things were different. Oh no, I don’t mean I was Read more >

A Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor

We had a fabulous time at the weekend visiting a Magical Christmas at Drayton Manor. All of the rides in Thomasland were running as well as a couple out in the main park, perfect for a day out with the kids. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, there were also snow showers, Christmas Tree light shows, an indoor ice rink, Christmas shows, 4D Polar Express, Thomas Land shows, meet and greets, a magical parade and fireworks. Excitement was high! The park looked so pretty and festive and as well as the decorations and twinkly lights, dotted around were fun over-sized ornaments Read more >

Making Kids Christmas Placemats

Last weekend the kids and I made a handprint Christmas tree, and while doing so, we created lots of paper with handprints on, as you would. We used several for our tree but still had some left over and I felt a bit sad to throw them away. Then the idea struck me that we could make something else with them. Christmas placements. This will be the first year that we are hosting Christmas, and I’m looking forward to setting the table. Boo and I have been out and chosen a festive table runner, candle, crackers and napkins, and now Read more >

And you thought Elf on the Shelf was creepy…

We’ve had our Elf on the Shelf for the past couple of years, and the kids absolutely adore him. Marty, his name is, and he arrives on the 1st December each year. The children are keen for his arrival, and each and every day when they wake up, they’re eager to rush downstairs to see where he’s moved to over night. That’s how it works here, with him popping to the North Pole in the night, but back by dawn, and it’s really about the kids having him in the house. I know some people like to do it as Read more >

Christmas Cards From Zazzle

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be thinking about your Christmas cards around about now. I like to get mine written towards the end of this month, ready to send in early December. I used to sell cards, and I used to sell them because I love them. I’m one of those people who spends quite some time selecting cards, greetings or Christmas. So I took great delight popping over to Zazzle to make my selections this year. If you’ve not visited Zazzle before, then you are in for something of a treat, albeit a somewhat overwhelming treat at times. Where Read more >

The Christmas Treasure Hunt

It’s November, the ads have started, so I’m feeling festive! We do love Christmas here and we are adding more family traditions every year as the children are growing up. We have our Elf on the Shelf, Marty, and this year he’ll also bring Elfie’s Christmas letters with him, we go to John Lewis each year so the kids can each choose a new tree decoration, we have Christmas Eve stockings which include new PJs for that night, and we have our Muppet Christmas Carol Day. This year, inspired by Dobbies and the cute new reindeer friend that they sent us (now Read more >

A Christmas Star Review & Giveaway

Christmas Stars will soon be hanging in nearly every window in Sweden. It was originally a symbol for the guiding star but today it is a popular Christmas decoration because of it’s atmospheric lighting and lovely design. It makes the room feel all cosy and looks beautiful. When Jackie K contacted me about their stars, I loved the idea of this being a national tradition over in Sweden. The stars look so pretty and the store has an enormous range of them available to choose from. We opted for the Beatrix 72… It came well-packaged within a few days. The Read more >

Our Christmas Break

We’ve had a lovely couple of weeks here. It’s been great having Boo at home from school, and the Husband’s only had to work for a few days over the fortnight, too, so we’ve had plenty of family time. I’ve also taken a fair bit of time off from blogging, which has been nice. Christmas was fun, and then we’ve had lots of leisurely days, playing with toys, watching movies, seeing family and browsing round the shops. Little Man has delighted in having his big sister around all the time, and so there have been endless giggles. And why play with Read more >
