3 Easy Ways a Bullet Journal Can Make You More Productive

3 Easy Ways a Bullet Journal Can Make You More Productive

You may week know that I love my bullet journal here. I have written a few posts about how I use mine, from a beginner’s guide through to using it for different purposes, and today I wanted to talk about it as a productivity tool, its primary purpose. When you see images of bullet journals, they’re often pretty, with great doodles, beautiful writing, carefully laid out grids and so on. Well, they are not like mine! I do use washi tape and brightly coloured pens to pretty it up, but as you’ll see in my video ‘Bullet Journal Set Up Read more >

Why Do I Read?

I read. Quite a lot. I love to read. I always have a book on the go. I do tend to only read one at a time, unlike my daughter who has 3-4 going at the same time. As soon as I finish a book, I peruse my TBR pile and select my next read, I do enjoy this part! I have a lot of books on that pile as I’ve bought quite a few and have managed to acquire many more – when people know that you love to read, they like to pass books onto you – perfect. Read more >

Keeping A Birthday Journal

Today I am talking about keeping birthday journals, as this is something that I love doing for my children. What’s a birthday journal all about? Every year, after I put my kids to bed on their birthdays, I sit down and write in their birthday journal. It’s a keepsake that I am creating for them, building it up year on year. Why do this? I really enjoy keeping birthday journals. I can’t quite recall what gave me the idea, but I did think of it just before my eldest’s first birthday, so we’ve not missed any years. It’s very easy Read more >

The Little Book of Lykke Review & Giveaway

Earlier this year I discovered the joy of reading Meik Wiking’s Little Book of Hygge, I talked about it in 5 Books Guaranteed to Inspire You and Can Embracing Hygge Make You Happier? It was an absolute pleasure to read, whilst making me think and make a few changes in my life. It’s a book I recommend to everyone, so when the folks over at Penguin Random House got in touch about Meik’s second book, The Little Book of Lykke out on the 7th September, I jumped at the chance to read it. The Pen Pal Sign Up – June 2017

Earlier this year I ran my first pen pal sign up. Though I regularly run book and stationery swaps, this one was a bit different as this one was all about developing longer term friendships and I also found it took me a lot longer to put people together and administer! But it was worth it. I’ve had several people thanking me for the difference it has made to them and I myself now have several lovely new pen pals. Since running it I’ve had lots of people asking me to do one again, so here it is, just for Read more >

summer reading pile

A Summer Of Reading Awaits!

On average, I’d say I read 4-6 books a month. But as summer looms, I can see my summer of reading beckoning me and I’m getting excited. As I study from September to June each year, I do have limited time to read, hence only getting through one book every few days to a week. Then as soon as my module finishes, my summer of books can begin. As I shared yesterday, I have just finished it, hooray! So here is my current to be read pile. I’d say this is actually around a third of the books I have to Read more >

Using a Bullet Journal to Plan for Disney World

There is much excitement here as we have decided that we are going to Disney World next year. So along with watching a lot of Disney vlogs, especially BrummyMummyof2’s as they’re friends of ours so the kids love seeing their pals exploring Disney, I thought I’d best start making some plans. Partly because it feels like the kind of holiday that requires some planning to get the most out of it, and partly because it’s fun to do! So I have taken to my bullet journal… I have popped two double page spreads in there dedicate to Disney planning. I Read more >
