Photo Fun with Snapfish

A couple of weeks ago I spent some time playing around with creating a Snapfish photo book, thanks to their kind invitation to do so.

I had a browse around their website and then set about designing an 11×8 landscape hardcover photo book, going for a simple theme for the pages as I plan to use this as a lovely custom Christmas gift.

One of the first things that struck me was how many options are available to personalise this, ensuring that it really is a one-off thoughtful present or keepsake. There are so many layout designs available, covering the holidays, years in review, family themes, geometric patterns, oh, so many! On top of that there are then hundreds of embellishments available once you start creating your own book. I really enjoyed putting it all together, it was a fun project to work on.

Eventually, I settled on a Christmassy snap for the front cover, and there’s the option to title it, which I’ve covered with a little ribbon here as it’s the kids’ names. I also titled the spine, which I thought was a nice touch.

The process of uploading your photographs to the book is nice and simple. You can add any stored on your PC, as well as uploading directly from Facebook and Instagram. I imported a stack over from my PC and then allowed Snapfish to autofill the album for me, which was just perfect. You can choose to place them in individually, but this was a lot faster and I then went through and just moved a couple of them around to where I wanted.

I liked the layout as it offered me the opportunity to add text where I wanted to, play around with embellishments, and I liked how each double page spread was laid out differently, some with montages and some with full photos.

My finished product is lovely. Of course, I would think that as it’s full of photos of my children! Every page feels nice and thick and the photos have come out exactly as I had them on my computer with just the right colours and there’s a smooth glossy feel to each page. I am impressed, so much so that I’ve decided to buy some more as gifts.

There are options available to suit all budgets and I can see these being great gift ideas as Christmas is approaching. If these appeal to you, I’m delighted to be able to share a 40% discount code with you, just use JOCELYNBOOK40 over on Snapfish to save yourself some money. And now I’m off to order another one…!
