Papery Peep June 2015

Welcome to this month’s Papery Peep. A chance to share all things pretty and papery, and I invite you to link up any paper-loving posts, too. I love to read them!

It was my birthday this month. Friends and family know me well, so amongst other gorgeous gifts, I received a fair bit of paper…

Spoiled! I was also fortunate enough to receive Judy Blume’s latest book from her publicists so I’m looking forward to reading that. Takes me right back to Are You There, God? It’s Me Margaret and Forever. I think I read all of her books, such a big part of my childhood.

Read: It’s been a quiet one for me this month on the reading front. I’ve had a lot going on, but must improve on this next month as I know I always feel better when I’ve got my head in a good book. So far in June I’ve read Coming Up Roses by Rachael Lucas, The Doris Day Vintage Film Club by Fiona Harper and Deadly Decisions by Kathy Reichs. I enjoyed the first two, but struggled to really get into Deadly Decisions.

Write: It’s been a month of lists, lots of lists! Boo’s had plenty of letters home from school this month, so I feel I’ve been writing slips back daily, as well as her homework logs and reports. I’ve also had lots of cards to write, letters to send and of course my journal. I do like having so many pens to choose from for all of these tasks, too.

Create: As I have my new felt tips, I’ve been colouring again this month, which has been enjoyable. I’ve also been creating some pretty and colourful Mail Tags, which you can read all about here.

  1. What a lovely lot of papery gifts and cards for your birthday and love the sound of the Judy Blume book – her books were a big favourite of mine and I still have them all to pass on to the girls when they are older. Hope to join you later tonight for the Twitter party 🙂

    1. Thank you. I’m not sure that I still have mine, so I suspect I’ll be buying them all again in a few years time! Be lovely to chat later then x

  2. Happy birthday! Missed that, sorry. Looks like you got lots of lovely treats!

Oh I was obsessed with Judy Blume, how exciting. Can’t wait to see what you think. I know want to buy all her books, even though I had them all. Silly loft clear out back in the day I think.

Will be at the Twitter chat, provided bed time goes to plan!! xx

    1. Thanks, I did indeed! Yes, I’m going to buy them all again for Boo at some point, though I had them all, too. Fabulous, look forward to tweeting 🙂 xx

  3. What lovely cards! I adore the one from your husband, it reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh quote “Nobody can be uncheered by a balloon”. Happy birthday!
Would love the hear your thoughts on ‘The Miniaturist’- I couldn’t complete the full circle, which may well be the nuance of the book!
And also definitely look forward to hearing about Judy Blume’s latest! Definitely one from my childhood and may need to fall into a shopping basket… mine.
