Papery Peep August 2015

How is it already August’s Papery Peep? Where is the time going?!

I’ve actually had quite a lot of new paper this month, so I thought I’d share it all with you today.

I’ve bought new books…

I have new stationery, all from Zazzle….

I’m loving my new planner there, and it’s tricky to see, but the clipboard is dotted with sparkly gold, which I love. My snail mail stickers are fun, and can you see those post it notes with the pretty flowers on? It also says ‘Jocelyn’ on that vase. Love.

And finally, I’ve received my Open University degree study materials. Gulp.

Read
So far this month, I’ve read Tess Gerritson’s Call After Midnight, Peter James’ Truth (my third Peter James book, and each and every one have proved impossible to put down – I must get more of his) and 3 of Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau books. I love these books, about immortals, filled with dark humour and romance. I’ve read most of the series now, so I was pleased when the lovely Susan recommended the Undead series to me by MaryJanice Davidson, and I enjoyed Undead and Unwed.

Write
Along with the normal lists and journal-keeping, a few other ‘writes’ stand out for me this month. We have had some new pets here (how can you not know this yet, I talk about them a lot?!) and so Boo and I have been keeping a food list for them, noting down their preferences and what is safe to eat for them. We mark things off in a pretty pink pen, and Boo likes to do the marking part. I’ve then been writing Boo’s birthday party invitations, all 40 of them. Boo has also had a bedroom makeover, which means she now has a desk and her very own post box. Which means we have been writing a lot of notes to one another, a lot! It’s been fun and so sweet.

Create
This month I’ve been running my #31DaysofPaper Instagram challenge. It’s been great and it’s allowed me plenty of creativity, as I’ve enjoyed interpreting the prompts each day. Here have been a few of my favourite photos…

  1. Gorgeous books and stationary – ALL MY FAVOURITE THINGS! I like the sound of ‘a cottage by the sea’ for my holiday read this year, I love the colourful planning sheet too! Katie

    1. Thank you! I’ll be using those pretty sheets soon – almost can’t bear to ruin their prettiness with my scrawly writing!

  2. Thanks, Louise. I’m really looking forward to making a start on my course, as I do love history. Glad you’ve enjoyed the IG challenge, too, I’ve loved it 🙂 x

  3. I love that you two have been sending notes to each other, that’s utterly adorable. So sorry I yet again was rubbish at joining with Instagram, I had the best intentions I promise 🙁

Exciting about the course. I really miss all the reading and writing essays from uni, does that make me weird?? xx

    1. It’s fun to do, she gets so excited when she finds a note in there! Oh, don’t worry, I know how life is!

Nope, not weird at all – I’m really looking forward to it 🙂 xx

  4. I think I’m in love with all your gorgeous paper and washi. I personally love teen literature ie. Meg Cabot’s Mediator series. Love that you write letters to one another and use the post box. I remember being in primary school and writing to a cuddly dog and cat.
