I’m Loving….Livie & Luca

When I was contacted recently and asked to shop at any UK independent shop, and then tell you all about it, this shop quickly came to mind. I already had it on my list for an ‘I’m Loving..’ post, so this seemed the perfect opportunity to share them with you….

I discovered Livie & Luca via Twitter and reading about them on another blog. As soon as I saw the gorgeous range of children’s shoes, I was smitten!

livieandluca1_logoLivie & Luca sell ‘adorable shoes for adorable feet’. Their shop has a really good range of shoes, from babies through to kids, and even some for women, too. Their website tells us:

Livie & Luca childrens shoes incorporate brightly coloured leathers, bold designs and whimsical modern touches that capture the playful essence of childhood. Livie & Luca’s designs are inspired by nature, folklore and the rich imagination of children. Their comfortable construction allows kids to navigate playgrounds, city streets and dirt pathways with style and ease.

To me, they offer something a little different. The styles are quirky and cute.

The only issue that I actually had was choosing which ones to buy! There are so many lovely shoes and boots there, I short-listed 4-5 for each of the children, which then took me some time so narrow down. Finally, I managed to make my selections from the short list, to these…

I got the Rex boots for Little Man

And I got the Buck Shimmer boots for Boo..

Once ordered, I received confirmation within a few hours that they’d been shipped, and so I waited excitedly for my parcels!

And on arrival, I was delighted with them. The fun style of both pairs of boots was evident from the photographs on the website. The quality is evident as soon as you’re holding them. I’d actually bought them each the next size up, which seemed like a good plan, until Boo saw her boots and is now nagging to wear them every day! But then, we encountered an issue… Little Man couldn’t get his feet into his adorable new boots – disaster! It seems he has a high instep. I sooo wanted those, but hey, these things are sent to try us, so I contacted Livie and Luca, popped them back into the post, and chose a new pair…

And I love them – phew!

Now, products aside, it’s been the caring, personal service that I have received that has made this shop fantastic for me. I’ve been offered so much advice on sorting out sizing, ideas and recommendations and suggestions of styles based on what I was after. And then when the Rex boots weren’t suitable, I received reassurance that they’d help me find something else that would be perfect, and assisted me again with choices.

I was always a little reticent to buy shoes for the children on-line, as you do need to get the fit just right for them. I was advised on how best to measure them, and then asked to give any extra information, such as the fact that both Boo and Little Man have very wide feet, so that suitable sizes and styles could be recommended to me. OK, I then did have to send some back, before getting it right, but to be honest, it was still all less hassle than traipsing into town, and the shoes are just gorgeous. I will definitely be shopping there again 🙂

It was Barclaycard that asked me to undergo this arduous task of shopping with a company that I love! That’s because with Barclaycard’s Freedom Rewards, as well as getting points for shopping at many of the big chains and high street retailers, you’re also rewarded for shopping at your favourite independent stores, which is handy, as I do like so many!

This particular ‘I’m Loving..’ is written in collaboration with Barclaycard. I was given the choice of shopping with absolutely any UK independent retailer and sharing with you what I love about them, so all words and opinions are entirely my own.
