Fun in the Sun at Kingsbury Water Park

While the sun shines, I love to get the family outside, enjoying it all. Last weekend a sunny day dawned, so we had a little think about where to go, that was nearby, cost little, and most importantly, would be fun! We came up with Kingsbury Water Park. My sister-in-law had mentioned it to me, so I thought we’d give it a whirl. I packed a picnic lunch, grabbed the bags, and we were off..!

It was all of 10 minutes from our house, which was the point the husband and I kept repeating to each other throughout our visit, as it was really good, really close by, and yet we’d never been! The car parking was just inside the park and we parked in a nice, big space to allow for us getting both kids out of the car easily – you know how it is! We found a picnic bench in the shade right near to the children’s play area, so we settled in for some lunch, whilst Boo ate and planned all the equipment she’d soon be playing on. Lunch over, and we moved off to the playground, which, as well as the ‘traditional’ entrance method of a gate, had tunnels for the kids to go through as their little entrance – a fab little touch, I thought, and Boo definitely approved.

There was loads to play on, so a great time was had there, before luring her out with the promise of a train ride – yes, she’d clocked the mini train running past every few minutes.

The train was really cute, with it’s own station, and a 10 minute journey time to another part of the park. Pushchairs could be popped in a trailer on the back, so we settled in to enjoy the ride. Little Man enjoyed it as much as Boo, as I’m sure you can see from the photo! The train took us to another play area (Boo couldn’t believe her luck!), along with nearby pedalo rides, which the husband and Boo spent some time on, while Little Man napped in his pushchair and I enjoyed a sit down.

Then we hopped back on the train and found the geese and ducks to feed, and then there was Daisy the donkey to ride!

A final half an hour in the play area rounded off our visit, a fantastic day had by all, and we agreed that we’ll be back there very soon 🙂

  1. It’s always the way isn’t it? We have so many places nearby that we haven’t been to yet because we’re always off to the far away places. I love pedalos, takes me right back to the first time I sat in one with my dad!

    1. I know, madness! At least we’ve found it now, and we’ll definitely go back. Glad to have evoked some happy memories for you, too 🙂

  2. It’s lovely to have this so near to you and with such a variety of activities for the children and adults alike. A great family day out at very little cost, thanks for sharing with Country Kids.
